e.l.f. halloween how-to: DIVA
e.l.f. halloween how-to: DIVA
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2014

If you're not a DIVA on a regular basis, test out your skills on Halloween Elfette! The e.l.f. DIVA Beauty Book is the perfect kit to get the look with and use later on too! From shadows to lips, we've got you covered.

STEP 1: Using the Eye Shadow "C" Brush, Pat on the golden shade from the "Diva Book." Wet the brush hair lightly to apply maximum color.

STEP 2: Begin to build up your crease and edge color by applying a pink shade from the "Diva book," with an Angled Contour Brush. Apply the color lightly to start and build up as needed to achieve a dramatic look.

STEP 3: Don't be afraid to layer! Layering unexpected colors can totally make your look unique and what DIVA doesn't experiment? Apply the blue shade from the "Diva book" to the edges of your lid, using the e.l.f. Essential Defining Eye Brush. This brush helps to apply color in small areas, so it's great for the edges.

STEP 4: Liner makes this eye truly pop! Apply the black, pencil liner from the book to the upper and lower lids.

STEP 5: Apply a bit of color to the cheeks using any of the pink shades in the book. I love the e.l.f. studio Blush Brush for this! It adds just the right amount of color where it's needed.

STEP 6: Gloss up! Get those lips shiny and beautiful with the gloss from the book, or an e.l.f. Studio Glossy Gloss in Funky Fuschia.

xoxo
Sonia

e.l.f. halloween how-to: WICKED
e.l.f. halloween how-to: WICKED
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2014

Hey Elfette! How much do you love this WICKED look? If there's one look that everyone runs to for a last-minute Halloween party, it's the "all black" outfit and this Wicked makeup is PERFECT for that! Grab this Beauty Book and check out my steps below to achieve this look:

STEP 1: Pick up the red shadow on an e.l.f. Studio Contour Brush , and apply all over the lid and crease. Don't be afraid to take your shadow higher than normal on the eye.

STEP 2: Pack on the black shadow, using the e.l.f. Studio "C" Brush and blend until you achieve a smoky effect.

STEP 3: Get those long lashes on! Give yourself some dramatic, spider-like lashes and apply several coats of mascara.

Next, use your pencil liner to add even more drama to the lower lid and inner rim.

STEP 4: Contour time! This might sound spooky, but I used the black and brown shadows to create a very strong contour on the cheek. Apply the colors to the hollows of your cheek and then use the cream shadow to add highlight above. Have some fun with this step!

STEP 5: Eye liner has many uses during Halloween! Apply a thick layer to your lips to get the "black lipstick" effect.

STEP 6: Use the gloss in the book to apply to the center of the lips for shine.

xoxo
Sonia

Jane Levy's Fall Face + Fall Eyes!
Jane Levy's Fall Face + Fall Eyes!
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 01, 2014

Source: Shutterstock

We've been all about fall trends recently, as we're sure you're well aware of by now! With so many great looks en vogue this season, it's easy to see how it can be difficult to pull off more than one great feature at a time. However, actress Jane Levy nailed two gorgeous fall trends at a recent red carpet premiere: A glowing, fresh face, and a perfect fall smoky eye! We've been loving how dewy, glowing face looks have transitioned so nicely from summer into fall this year. And if you've seen Sonia's gorgeous take on this season's best colors, Jane's smoky eye is right on target!

Want a quick shortcut to glowing skin this fall? Get it all in one step with our Studio Mineral Infused Primer in Radiant Glow! Next, after priming, top your eyelids with a lovely purple-gray color. Two great options from our Mineral Eyeshadow collection include Socialite and Smoldering. For extra definition, contour your crease with a matte brown shadow, such as Enchanting from our Mineral Eyeshadows. Our NEW Studio Crease Brush would be great for this step!

What do you think of Jane's double-duty fall face?

Sara

Would You Try? Kylie's Overdrawn Lip
Would You Try? Kylie's Overdrawn Lip
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2014

Source: Shutterstock

Even though she's only 17, Kylie Jenner has been faced with a lot of controversy lately over her trademark lips! It seems that many people believe the young starlet's lips are the result of plastic surgery! Of course, if you know a thing or two about the ins-and-outs of makeup, you know that altering your appearance is as easy as a few key products! In reality, Kylie's full lips are easily achieved through some lip lining tips. I tried overdrawing my lip liner, as Kylie does, at a recent event I went to, and I was shocked by how much naturally fuller my lips looked! It's a great, easy trick to change up your look. Here's how to try it:

1.) Start with clean, smooth lips! I like to use my Studio Lip Exfoliator to slough off any dried skin, followed by the Essential Soothing Lip Balm in Vanilla Creme.

2.) The key to this lip look is to prime! The easiest way is to use the Prime side of our Studio Lip Primer & Plumper, but you can also apply a thin layer of concealer over your lips as well. Try our Studio HD Lifting Concealer in your desired shade.

3.) Now for the tricky part, line your lips just barely outside your natural lip line with the Define side of our Studio Lip Definer and Shaper. You can also use the Shape side to trace above the line you just drew to emphasize your Cupid's bow.

4.) Lastly, fill in with your desired lip color! This look works best with very subtle, natural shades. My personal pick is our Studio Matte Lip Color in Natural.

See how simple it is to make your lips look so great? Will you try this trick?

Sara
