Get #OnPoint with The Modern Brow
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2015

By now you must have seen our latest video on the eyeslipsfacedotcom YouTube channel, The Modern Smokey Eye (And if you haven't, check it out, and subscribe!). We give the classic heavy smokey eye a fresh, modern twist, complete with a full face and lip look. We're all about brows this year, and of course, we nailed down the easiest trick ever to get a full, modern brow! Check out the video for the full step-by-step (and some extra expert tips here!) and save this infographic for your best brows!

1.) Using a small angled brush, pick up the corresponding powder in our Studio Eyebrow Kit, and tap off any access.

2.) Begin applying the powder to your brows, using quick strokes, and mimic the shape of hair. This creates a more natural look.

A Twist on the Classic: The Modern Smokey Eye
A Twist on the Classic: The Modern Smokey Eye
FRIDAY, JANUARY 23, 2015

If you've been around our YouTube channel lately (And if you haven't, check it out, and subscribe!) you may have seen our latest how-to: The Modern Smokey Eye! Our Creative Director and Chief Makeup Artist Achelle Dunaway shows her tips and tricks to get a classic smokey eye, with a modern twist! It's the perfect look for any night out with friends, even on date night! Watch the video here, check out our expert tips here, and save this handy infographic step-by-step for future reference!

1. After priming your eyes, pat on a light, shimmery shade as your base. Achelle used the golden shade from our Studio Prism Eyeshadow in Naked on our model, Camilla.

2.) Next, contour your crease using a matte brown. Our Essential Flawless Eyeshadow in Beautiful Browns has a great shade that's perfect for this look.

3.) Finish off your eyeshadow by defining the outer "v" of the eye with a deep, shimmery brown. We used a shade from our Studio Baked Eyeshadow Palette in NYC. To keep this smokey eye "modern," avoid putting any shadows under the eye, or on the lower lashline!

4.) For extra definition, line the eyes using our Studio Cream Eyeliner in Black.

5.) This eye calls for lots of mascara. Apply a few coats of our Studio Mineral Infused Mascara to your desired length.

6.) Finish off the eye by applying our Studio Lash Collection in Everyday!

How To: Perfect Your Pout!
How To: Perfect Your Pout!
SUNDAY, JANUARY 18, 2015

It's a very sweet time of year elfettes, what with Valentine's Day less than a month away! It's prime-time to get your lips in smooch-worthy shape in time for February 14th. That's why we've gathered up our favorite pucker-perfecting products to perfect your pout!

1.) Exfoliate - Our Studio Lip Exfoliator is a beloved elfette favorite, and if you're plagued by dry lips this time of year, you'll know why! Start by smoothing out cracked lips for a smooth starting point.

2.) Moisturize - Seal in moisture after exfoliating with a soothing, clear balm like our Essential Soothing Lip Balm before applying your lip color.

3.) Prime - For smooch-proof color, prime your lips with the "prime" side of our Studio Lip Primer & Plumper for optimal color payoff and longevity.

4.) Line - Line, then fill your lips with any e.l.f. lip liner that matches your lipstick. After that, use our Studio Lip Lock Pencil to lock in your line and prevent feathering.

5.) Color - Last but not least, apply your color! For optimal precision, use a thin lip brush.

Golden Globes 2015 Beauty Roundup!
Golden Globes 2015 Beauty Roundup!
TUESDAY, JANUARY 13, 2015

Awards season is underway! You know this time of year is one of our favorites here at e.l.f. While everyone else spends the next week analyzing dresses and winners, we've been obsessing all about the beauty looks we spotted on the red carpet Sunday night. Without further ado, here are a few of our gorgeous favorites, highlighting a few of the biggest trends of the night:

Sunday night was certainly the night of the Smokey Eye! We spotted the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Kerry Washington, Selena Gomez, and Alison Williams (above) wearing heavy, metallic smokey eyes in shades of gunmetal gray, copper, and bronze. We loved Allison's shimmery brown look. The metallic shadow on the lid pops against the matte shadow (in the same shade--a great trick!) for definition in the crease.

While some celebs wore heavy eyes, others looked nearly bare! Gorgeous glows, and minimal eyes were also a huge trend of the night. Stars like Chrissy Teigan, Reese Witherspoon, and Jennifer Aniston (above) all sported beautiful, glowing skin. We love Jennifer's pale peach blush, definitely on trend this season!

While there were plenty of smokey eyes to be seen on the red carpet, some celebs opted for brighter shades, making for a bold, yet subdued look. Nina Dobrev (above) wore a vivid violet shade up to the browbone, while Sarah Hyland (below) went for a sunset red shadow.

What were your favorite looks from the Globes elfettes?
