Cover that Tattoo

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Got a tattoo and need to cover it up, here’s a great way to conceal.  Try mixing a waterproof sunscreen with your foundation, this will help set the color longer and will help provide color that stays and won’t sweat away, plus the SPF protects your skin.  It’s important to match your skin tone, so this may require a blend of two colors or more to achieve your perfect your unique color.

If you got a tattoo that’s not so wanted anymore, I suggest laser removal.  Now relatively expensive and probably uncomfortable it is the only way to permanently get rid of your tattoo.  I suggest the latest Q-switched lasers, which work by pulsing light into the tattoo inks which cause a reaction that breaks them down into tiny particles that allow the pigments to then be dispersed (laymen terms…this flushes it out of your system and says bye bye to tattoo).

My suggestion, make sure you love the permanent “art scar” before you get it, because 50 years from now when it’s stretched, faded, and barely recognizable will you still love it?

I TOTALLY agree. I have a tattoo that I got when I was 18. I love it, it is the cambodian symbol for passion, but during the healing process it became infected even though I was taking great care of it and the color bled a bit so now it looks...blurred. And NOT what it should look like. I may get laser treatment later in life, but for now its staying put. Thanks for this tip, I need it!

Thats a great tip to help cover it up. I have a tattoo on my back that's actually my own peice of art, which i love. But since im a dancer i have many performances and sometimes have a custome that would make it show. This is also perfect becuase after doing a long show the makeup will not sweat off. great tip!

50 years from now there are probably going to be a lot of stretched, faded, and barely recognizable things about my body that I am not going to like!

A physician I work with who does laser removal says that a lesser expensive and less painful option is to try covering the tattoo with skin-colored ink. Many tattoo shops will do this, but make sure you go to a place that's reputable!

i have to admit that while tatos can look great on some people, the majority of them look tacky and trampy!! so this tatoo concealer is a greAT idea. . .i just hope some people have the brains to use it!!! xxx

Yeah, I agree that tattoo's can be a total pain sometimes- especially hiding them for a friend! They are so painful but they are for life so choose carefully. Getting them removed leaves a bad scar but I love my tattoo of a cherry on my ankle =)
