A few weeks ago one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year made its debut in theaters across the country. Anxious fans who have been waiting for a few years now were eager to break out the cosmos and Manolos. Yes, if you haven’t already guessed I'm talking about the Sex and the City movie. I was so excited that l finally got a chance to see the movie last night with one of my girlfriends! After seeing the movie and of course in true Carrie form....I got to thinking about relationships and the ones you have with your girlfriends.

Do you have a tight knit group like the one in the movie? Who's the Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda of your group? Which character are you?

Ahh..I don't think that there is one of each of the characters in my group of girls but I am definitely Charolette, we do have a Carrie (she is a true fashionista!), our Samantha is a bit tamer but still pretty, umm, well Adventurous - but we don't really have a Miranda - hey maybe we will have to add one!

Ok, so I have yet to see the movie! I know, that is horrible. A few girl friends of mine have gone and LOVED it. I think personally, I am a nice mixture of all the girls. Fun, fashionable, some what quiet and conservative, yet loud and knowing just what I want and how I have to get it at times. I cant wait to see the movie. :)

i do have tight knit group like the satc girls which im fortunate to be in. I'm def. the charlotte in the group, very naive and conservative. i think unlike TV & movies, tight knit groups tend to have the same personalities, so what makes us different are the styles of clothing we were. my friend kristina is samatha, she loves red and to stand out. i like pretty dresses and natural makeup. My friend Cindy is miranda, only wear makeup at special events. Carrie... I think we are all Carrie. we are always looking for the lastest style!

Hi, I am definitely charlotte types-'just a little' conservative yet trendy & gossippy with friends! We have a Carrie in our group though a moderate form-expensive tastes & a shopocoholic but would still keep some money in bank! I used to have a tight knit group. We compared each other to the characters of "Friends". Since graduating school I have lost touch with alot of the girls and guys I used to be close to. Just work. then dinner then waiting to do it all over again. Just doesnt seem like theres time to hang out and be goofy. wow, i'm actually been starting to watch the episodes from the show right now, before i watch the movie. and from just the series, I find myself more of a Charlotte, being that she's soo innocent sometimes and the girlious girl of the bunch. And even to my name is Samantha, i don't like to see myself or any of my girlfriends as Samantha. as for Miranda.. i think maybe my friend Cat, because i feel like miranda is sometimes like tomboyish, which is what cat is like, but still wanting to find the one guy to be with.

I like to think that I'm the perfect combination but I'm not. I do have all of them in me a little, but definitely not the right amounts. I've been Carrie in my high school years and Samantha in my college years. I turned into Miranda the day I found out I was pregant and I always acted a little like Charlotte when no one else was around. I guess I'm Charlotte... I like to try everything but I'm way too conservative and scared to actually do it. I still want the white picket fence and matching tea set even though I've had way too many failed relationships to see it happening. I guess I'm a happy medium of them all but, I'm even happier knowing that mostly I'm Charlotte.

I don't really know that I have such a tight knit group as in the movie. I feel that I have a spread out group but I know that with time, some of us will stay together and some of us will split apart. People definatley become closer throughout life...it doesn't just magically happen.

I am definitely "Carrie"..not afraid to speak my mind or to follow my dreams. I have three close girlfriends and we are always refering to ourselves by the name of our favorite Sex in the City character. We used to have weekly Sex in the City party night, but nothing topped our Sex in the City girls night out we had for the movie premiere...we had a blast and now can't wait until the next Sex in the City movie is made.

Yes, my friends and I are very close like their friendship. We always gossip & talk about our love life lol. I think I'm more of a Charlotte, as she's soo quiet and really flirty and girly and the youngest. My friend Carly is like Carrie (kinda the same name too) as she loves shoes and designer stuff. My friend Marie is like Samatha as she is the oldest out of all of us and has gone out with a lot of guys. i do have a close knit of friends who might be similar to the girls in sex in the city. I consister myself to be charlotte. I have another friend who is carrie who is so into shoes. I haven't yet seen the movie but I watched all of the seasons and I'd have to say those ladies are hilarious! I have a tight knit group of girlfriends that don't exactly fit the mold of just one of the girls. We're all definitely a mix of at least 2 of them. I'd have to say I'm a mix between Carrie and Samantha. I love how Carrie is so independent but loves analyzing all of her relationships...even friendships. Samantha is a little weak emotionally, but she's sensitive and emotional which I am as well!!

I came late in life to enjoying the company of girlfriends, having spent my 20s and 30s seeing most women as "competition". Despite being a picture-perfect, straight-A kind of gal she's got a bit of a wild side that surprises us all: she's the first to order shots of tequila whenever we go out, although she's also the first to find the fat guy at the end of the bar "kinda cute". Celia is my Samantha. I'd tell you more about their similarities but I don't feel like outing my daring, lusty gal-pal on a public blog. Let's just say that when we're all in the mood for something different we let Celia plan the night's outings. And meanwhile we all somehow manage to coordinate our clothes. No, we don't plan that and there's no memo circulating. It just happens. Kind of like trouble "just happens", too, when we're together.

It will always be Miranda! I mean she's the only woman on the show that has the life of an regular "real" woman--she holds down a job that requires her to go into the office and expresses concern over housing costs, etc. Her realism helps balance out the fabulous fantasy life of the other three women.

I have the greatest group of girlfriends!We call ourselves the LPK girls because of the first letters of our names! We hit up downtown every friday night and party and dance because we can! I would have to say that i would have to be...Charlotte because i am the one who believes in fairytale endings and true love! Im also the wedding obsessed one as well and surprise surprise! I have been a die hard fan of sex and the city for the last 4 years or so. An ex-boyfriend of mine introduced me to the series and the rest was history! It was love at first site! I love all 4 girls and the unique flare each brings to the table. But most of all I love Charlotte and all my friends do agree that her zeal and positive outlook on love and relationships describes me to a tee. Not to mention her classy, sophisticated fashion sense. My two best friends each have one of the girls playing their roles. One is definitely a Samantha and the other a hybrid of Carrie and Miranda. We have been friends for years. Though we live in different cities we can certainly identify with circumstances and issues that both the movie and the series addressed!

Without a doubt, I am closest to Carrie. My shopping habits tend to put me in debt. I just watched an episode where her and Aidan had broken up, and she was forced to try to buy her apartment. I am currently going through lending issues myself, mainly because of the tight lending laws right now, and I was sitting there wishing I had a friend like Charlotte to lend me the money. Also, I am 39, had a string of failed relationships and have a soft spot for an emotionally unavailable man. In other words, I have my own "Big". I haven't seen the movie yet, mainly because of a very busy schedule. I'm hoping that Carrie finally has her happy ending, so that maybe that will give me hope for one of my own.

I had a similar group in college, and I was clearly Sam. I think in many ways I am still Sam, I reflect her independence, self-interest, and strength as well as charisma. However, when in a comitted relationship, I tend more the the neurotic nature of Carrie, and the loyal idealism of Charlotte. I think most women can closely relate to one of the 4, however, each woman in different aspects of her life resembles different characteristics from each of the women featured on the show.

I have always identified most with Carrie. I have many friends, but we do not live in the same city - so we cannot have that same bond that the "sex" girls have. I would say I am Carrie I have had a Aden and a big all rolled up in one man the non commited part of big is in this one and the so laid back and simplness of Aden is in him aswell. My friend Renee is Samantha now she is older as Somantha but she has no problems getting the men. Monica is Miranda close friend I can count on but always tells you like it is. Yes, I have a tight knit group like the one in the movie, and we are the BEST of friends. I am lucky enough to have my sisters as my best friends. We don't have a Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte or Miranda in our group, though, as none of us are promiscuous. We all feel that sex is something very special between husband and wife only, and feel that babies are a blessing from God. In college we had a group that reminds me a lot of the group in the movie - with a lot less sex though. We kept hanging around together for a while afterwards as well but then we all went our seperate ways. I've come across this question a few times in the last few weeks. Some days I'm a Carrie. I love writing, have a unnatural relationship with shoes, and know how to pick a non-committal man. I think I have a little of each in me. I'm a romantic like Charlotte and want a family (expecting my 1st child in October). I'm kind of conservative like Miranda, and while I love fashion, I don't have to rush out and buy clothes or shoes that are insanely expensive. I did go through a scaled-back Samantha phase after splitting from my first husband. And like Carrie, I had a tendancy to get too serious about guys too quickly, until I found the right man. Like Carrie and Big, we had a lot of obstacles in our relationship, the main one being that we met when he came to my hometown to visit childhood friends that were now my frieds, but he lived 2300 miles away. Once I met him, I was never able to get him out of my head and I compared every other guy to him. I happy to say we've now been married for five years and are expecting our first child.

I have had a very close relationship with 3 other girls for the past 12 years. We all married the same time, ended up divorced right around the same time and now are still as close as we can be. We watched every episode of Sex and the City together and made a party ritual of it. I think out of the 4 of us I could be considered the Miranda of the group and the girls agree, Kristi is Charlotte, Linda is Carrie and Brittany is definatly Samantha. We will miss the great girl bonding times from watching this show.

I think style wise I am like Charlotte. I tend to dress more classic and my make-up tends to be neutral, to accentuate a feature like one day my lips or one day my eyes and the rest tends to blend and just look natural and not over done. Now for a Charlette my friend Louis I think perfectly fits that mold. Shes very classy in attitude and dress. I used to have a really tight knit group. We have fallen apart in the last couple of months, sure that we will be tightly knit again shortly. I would have to be Samantha, I am very outgoing and outspoken when it comes to men and everything that goes with them. Sabrina would have to be Miranda, the spunky redhead. Ashley would have to be Carrie, always very fashionable, most of the time ahead of the fashions. And Amie would have to be Charlotte, very reserved, gracious, and beautiful. We aren't as tightly knit these days because of VERY busy schedules, not because of a falling out.

I think everyone has a little bit of each Sex and the City character in them and that is why we can all relate to the show so easily. As much as we do not want to admit how similar we are, there is something in everyone. From a quick glance I am most like Carrie and Charlotte. I love style and fashion and am usually calm and down to earth in most situations but at the same time am always organized, love clean lines, and have a classic mindset. It was very toxic. I didn't end up marrying him, thank goodness. The most specific part in the movie which reminded me of my friends was when the women are at lunch and use coloring as a code word for sex. I think every girl can relate to the Sex and the City characters. They are all so different and that's what makes the show such a hit. Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda all remind me of my girlfriends and myself. One of my friends is def. a Samantha, she is the "try anything at least once" type of girl. The show is amazing because it takes a true friendship through the rollercoaster of life, everything girlfriends share: love, laughter, inside jokes, tears, and everything in between. I am not sure which character I am but I think I might be a Carrie. :)

The girls in my close circle of friends each fit into the Sex and the City mold. We definitely have our Charlotte, Samantha, Miranda, and Carrie! I am an avid fan of the show, and love the close-knit relationship of the women. I find though, that it borders on being fantasy, as it is difficult to maintain this closeness when there are 4 different careers and stages in life. I'd love to find out how many other women out there have this type of a group of friends as I am jealous!!! I have aspects of my personality that can be linked to any of these 4 women, but Miranda is the one that I identify with the most. We're both headstrong, career-driven women who have a hard shell on the outside to protect our vulnerabilities.

I am now a mother of two kids, including one new baby four months old, but when the sex and the city movie debut I asked my husband to have a girls night out to watch it. I got dressed while my baby was taking a nap, I put on my SPF 15 SHIELDING HYDRO TINT, my healthy glow bronzing powder,and my plumping lip glauze. Fabulous! I went with my girlfriends and we had drinks after. It was wonderful to go out and hang out with the girls. By the way I think I am a mix of Carrie and Charlotte

I think the beauty of the Sex and the City girls is that you can see yourself in each of them. A little bit of Carrie's quirk, some of Samantha's moves (if you know what I mean), those uptight moments like Charlotte and the times when your a strong, opinionated and not afraid to voice it woman like Miranda. I USED to have a group like this, but it was a lot more complicated then it seems on sexy in the city. There was always fights and the group would often separate into side, etc. or a person would get singled out. Out of all these characters, i would consider myself Miranda.

I would have to say out of my group of friends, I am probably a mix between Charlotte and Carrie. I'm a mom and fairly conservative, but I love fashion and being trendy and am not afraid to take fashion risks. My cousin in law is definately a Samantha, although she's a mom and happily married, she is wild and so open about sex. My friend from home is a Miranda, she has an amazing job, keeps it real all the time, but wants a family and all the stability that goes with that, but is all about girl power! And my other good friend, who is also married is a mix of all the girls really.
