So, I will go right ahead and admit it. I’m hungry and I love good food. Who doesn’t? But between seeing pictures of stick skinny celebs and being tempted with muffins and donuts every morning, today’s world has become somewhat of a nutritional hell. We all want to look great without having to sacrifice the foods that just taste good. And if you become a religious visitor of  , you can! This website is absolutely amazing for the average women who love food and have no intention of giving it up (but still want to look awesome in that bikini!). The site gives suggestions of low-fat, low-calorie snacks that aren’t low in taste. Since I love to cook and bake, my favorite part is where they take traditionally unhealthy recipes and give you a new recipe that taste great but slashes off the unneeded fat and calories. Check it out and eat up!

The recipies are for "real" food not "diet" food which is in my experience expensive and unrealistic, plus no one in my house(besides me) will eat salmon or greens on a daily basis! This website is great! Ever since graduating college in May, I've been doing a lot less walking than I used to--not having to trek all over campus for classes & meetings. So that's affected my calorie intake/output quite a bit. I'm always looking for low-calorie snacks and meals without having to sacrifice taste. And I love all the little tips. Things like that can add up to a big difference--they help put me in the right mindset.

It take 15 minutes for you stomach to tell your brain you are full. So many of us stuff our food down without tasting it and eat way more than we need to to satisfy our cravings. I have found that the thing that works the best for me is to just use a smaller plate, dish up half of what I think I want to eat and eat slowly. That way when the meal is over and I want just a little more of my favorite things, I do not feel bad about eating it. The best part is I never walk away from the table hungry, and in a few hours when I am hungry again i do not feel bad about eating a snack.

I've learned to bypass unhealthy eating as much as possible. Cookies, chips, and caffinated soda's aren't in my house so the temptations isn't there. I dont eat breaded foods, and RARELY (i mean hardly ever) will you see anything FRIED in my house! Thankfully I'm passing healthy eating habits on to my daughter who loves her veggies and isn't a picky eater at all! Occasionally i do get a sweet tooth but have started buying sugar free chocolates or candies to keep on hand. It's all about making the CONSCIOUS EFFORT to eat healthy. Dont deprive yourself, but rather ask yourself "should i REALLY eat this?!" It's about self control. And i rarely go HUNGRY... I just eat healthy snacks and multiple small meals throughout the day. YUM! Risking sounding dumb, the soy crumbles work FABULOUSLY in burritos and spaghetti. My boys don't know the difference. The only downside is that the texture isn't "quite" the same. But nutritionally, it can't be beat! You also can't beat the savings in fat and calories. TRY IT! Morning Star makes the "ground beef" crumbles that I use. Go to their website for coupons.

I pretty much limit myself to around 1500 calories per day, work out daily for one hour and have been able to successfully maintain my figure. I'll definitely try to work this website into my habits for success!

what a great website! low-fat/low-calorie is the way to go!! if you really have to have the high fat, high sugar, high calorie foods, telling yourself that you can't have them will only make you want them more. allow yourself to have a VERY small portion of that food after you've had a long workout, or some other heavy physical activity. that way, you'll be satisfied. just don't pig out, otherwise the whole idea is pointless! :)

I actually just recently discovered, and as someone that is VERY careful about calories, fat, fiber, and protein, this is a dream come true. Even more so for someone lazy, as most recipes are incredibly easy. ;-) In the past week, I've tried 15 of her recipes. Some were amazingly good, some were good, and a few were just "ok". I will say that NONE of them were bad. And I love all of the desserts. My favorite is the peanut butter milkshake. Her spinach, egg, and feta breakfast wrap is amazingly good as well.

This sounds like a great site! Eating what you want and still looking good sounds like the perfect idea to me! There are also alot of books and magazines out there that give you some partially weird ideas like adding vegetables to chocolate chip cookies, but they add nutrition and still taste yummy.

That website sounds fantastic - I love making unhealthy recipes into healthy ones. I have a site,, that lets you look up how nutritious all your food is (including fast food and packaged food too) where I find out the information about what I'm eating. It takes a little more work than, but you can still use it for a fab diet.

I am a firm believer that you can enjoy any of these foods - you just need to do so in moderation. Also - eat slowly and pay - attention to how the food really tastes - sometimes you realize that its not as good as you initially thought!!!

I am subscribed to hungrygirl's daily emails and LOVE them. The shopping lists are awesome... it keeps my fridge packed with yummy lo cal snacks. Also, it keeps me motivated to watch what I eat, and is a daily reminder of what to watch out for when eating out.

Wow. . . this site is definitely what I need. I love to eat and have a really hard time getting myself to the gym so I need all the help I can get. I love to bake and am addicted to baked goods and all things that involve flour and sugar so when I read this blog I checked out the website and the suggestions seem easy to do and there are plenty of delicious sounding recipes. I am big on looking good. I have gained so much weight since moving on my own, but I blame it all on eating out and eating junk. But there is noone to blame but me. There is so much healthy food out there that I am finding out about, plus at every restaurant they have something on the weight watchers side. Hungry Girl also provides a complete shopping list for healthy foods, which is very convenient. Her cookbook is wonderful with many unthought of ways to trim down recipes and have them still taste good. She has a great sense of humor. I love Hungry Girl.

I know what you mean. Its great for someone to have the same mind set. I love food and I love to cook but I don't want to gain a lot of weight because of it. I love the great cooking tips and the blog to announce it to everyone. Just cutting fat and simplifing your cooking will help also. I know there are some things you can't give up (like chocolate) but in moderation, you will still lose the weight you need.

As nice as it is to have great recipes, I often don't have the time to just sit down and bake a nutritious tasty treat. I am in college and work, so between exams, labs and homework it is hard enough to find time to eat at all. I have found that substituting a piece of fruit for the usual unhealthy snack works really well and leaves you guilt-free. Also, on those rare occasions that I have some spare time on the weekend, it is helpful to pre-bake and freeze some healthy meals and snacks. That way, all I have to do is pop it in the microwave and I am back to studying.

I think you can eat anything if you just exercise and eat in moderation. I love food too. I can't help eating chocolate or certain types of fatty junkfood. As long as you aren't a couch potatoe then you can still eat the foods you love and look and be healthy.

Wow!! This website, Hungry girl is amazing. It helped me understand many nutrition related doubts through "Ask Hungry Girl" page. The page "Chew the right things" cleared up lots of calorie myths i have had. I have read lots of good reviews on the book to, definitely I am gonna try that soon.
