The Dark Knight

Wednesday, August 06, 2008

After hearing all the buzz about summer’s latest superhero flick, I finally saw The Dark Knight. And if you haven’t seen it yet or have been trapped on a desert island so you haven’t been hearing anything about it; let me tell you, it was awesome. I’m not generally a superhero movie type of girl, but since this certain one was surrounded with so much hype, I knew I had to go see it for myself. The plot was twisted and gripping. Batman and The Joker were both played very well. Heath Ledger’s chilling performance as the movie’s villain has been said to be Oscar-worthy.  Not to mention The Dark Knight broke the box office opening weekend record with $43.8 million in sales, but will it break the record $600.8 million in total sales that Titanic had in 1997?  Currently as of Aug 3rd it has had $394.9 million in sales.  Go see it for yourself and you’ll understand why! Get ready to be on the edge of your seat! Have you seen it?  What did you think?

I saw it opening day and it was unbelievable! I honestly can say it is one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time! Heath Ledger was so dark and disturbing and Batman was so conflicted. Definitely worth seeing more than once!

I was seriously impressed with 'The Dark Knight'. Marvel has set out to prove that it is not "just a comic book" anymore. "Hulk" was amazing with it's special effects and computer enhancements. Now, Stephen King has joined with Marvel in an endevour with an originl miniseries called, "N". It can be downloaded at iTunes. Christian Bale did a great job as the caped crusader, but, was upstaged at every turn by Heath Ledger's outstanding performance as the maniacal Joker. The most note-worthy lines from the movie all came from those bloody red lips. It really is a must see movie, and I have never been a big action hero fan. You will walk out of the theater saying..."I can make this pencil disappear...".

Loved it! The Joker was awesome, I don't think it will be easy to replace Heath, there was no trace of him left in the character he even picked up an accent and a slight lisp for it. He better portrays the Joker from the comic series, with the love of chaos. I even wonder if maybe his accident was caused by depression because he got "stuck" in this role, he played every scene like he felt it.

I've seen it three times so far, and it is fantastic! It is without a doubt the best movie I've seen in a VERY long time. If Heath Ledger isn't at LEAST nominated, there is something very wrong. As much as I love Titanic, I hope that The Dark Knight beats it, or at least comes close. P.S. IMAX is AWESOME. Even if you've seen it already, GO SEE IT AT IMAX. It's more intense, loud, and in-your-face.

The Dark Knight is an AMAZYING movie!!!! I absolutely loved it! The Joker was so well played. I have already gone to see it twice and every time it has been absolutely amazing. I think i will definitely beat the Titanic's record in sales. I own Titanic and I think The Dark Knight is WAY better than Titanic. That is just my personal opinion though.

I saw it the day it came out and have made a date to go watch it again because it's just that amazing! Not only is the Joker's performance amazing, but did you know that the action of licking the lip was all Heath Ledger's idea? He got really into the role of the Joker - and that shows in the movie! Definitely a must-see for everyone!

I agree, this was an awsome movie! My husband and I saw this opening night and were both very impressed with Heath Ledger's performance. I was skeptical when I heard he was going to be the joker, because I had a hard time seeing his as a twisted psycho, but he definitly was believable! During the film, I couldn't help feeling a little sad knowing that Heath Ledger won't be making amymore movies. This role showed he was a distinguished actor and the movie was just sooo good. I agree that anyone who likes exciting and dark movies would enjoy this one!

I thought it was great (but I AM a superhero-movie kind of girl, not a romantic-comedy kind of girl): scary, funny, and very exciting. Heath Ledger was incredible; it's so strange because there is absolutely nothing recognizable about him in this character. After one particular scene with the Joker (I won't give it away), my dad leaned over and said, "Now THAT would be a great Halloween costume." Christian Bale deserves some credit, too, for being the best Batman since Michael Keaton.

Heath Ledger was phenomenal, in fact he was so good he practically pushed Christian Bale aside in that movie as a supporting actor! To those who haven't seen it, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the movie was quite well done and enjoyed all of it. However, a few days while I was talking to my boyfriend about the movie, and dicussing some of the fight scenes he mentioned the movie was rated PG-13. Now, I don't have kids and I don't think that children should be shielded from everything that's horrible and violent, but I can't really watch that movie think that it was PG-13 material. There are some really creepy and disturbing things that go on in that movie and I just thought it should have been rated-R. I'm really curious to hear other thoughts about it...

Heath Ledger was amazing as always, the graphics were amazing and the storyline was really good. Heath Ledger was amazing with his character in every way. I also really enjoyed watching Christian Bale act as Bruce Wayne and Batman. My favorite is when he's in the hospital outfit. My fiance LOVES scary movies but this one had him worked up! I definately recommend any one who is not afraid of clowns to spend the money to see it. It could possibly be one of the best movies ever made. Heath Ledger's performance stands out (as the Joker, he shows no remorse for anything he does and cannot be intimidated in any way; his mannerisms really reflect the charcter's insanity), but the other actors were excellent in their roles, as well.

This should be an oscar winner for the late Heath Ledger. He played that role so very very well, the best if I may say so. The movie was very good, the type of movie that you would want to see again.

I have seen it and it was great!! Heath Ledger's performance was actually what made this movie what it is. Although all the "good seats" in the theater was taken I had to sit in the front , and even then I still enjoyed the movie. If you haven't seen it, I recommend you go see it now.
