Dove Energy Glow

Friday, November 14, 2008

Ok, so if you are like me you have sadly lost your summer tan and now have that lovely pasty pale tone…well after countless searches for that natural glow I have found it! My friend(thanks Julie) recently turned me onto this selfless tanner from Dove called Energy Glow and I love it! It is a gradual tanner that is easy to apply so you stay streak free and see your skin transform in about 5 days of applying to a warmer shade, and it doesn’t have that nasty smell. I suggest the medium to dark one for faster visible results. So if you are looking for a fast natural skin booster, go get Dove’s Energy Glow. Do you have any other fun tanning products to share? Let’s hear them…

Self tanners are great....they give you color without the damage to your skin that a "real suntan" does. You can have color without increasing your risk of skin cancer or the wrinkles and "age spots" the sun can give you. ELF is a great site with great products and tips! Thanks!!

I totally love this product too! my winter skin is seriously porcelain! I have always had a problem finding something that doesn't make me orange... I've tried this and a couple other products, but this one is definately the best for me... I have also found that E.L.F. mineral bronzer adds a nice glow if applied to face and neck. To make the bronzer not quite so noticable I mix it in with the mineral foundation... gives you a little glow! if it's still a little too dark you can add the mineral shimmer over the top :) works like a gem! Happy winter!! :)

I've never tried Dove Energy Glow but I use Jergens Natural Glow daily. Sunless tanners are great because they give you the color you want with out baking in a tanning bed, which costs a lot and can really add up. I encourage all my friends to use a sunless tanner instead of a tanning bed because I used to go tanning, and recently I had a mole tested and it came back being precancerous. So be careful!

I use a bronzer of my face year round now... It gives me enough color (with a light shimmer) so my face can look "sun-kissed" -- even in the midst of our snowstorms here in western PA!

I love the Jergen Line of self tanning products. They have one for your body and face. With very sensitive acne prone skin the one for your face does not break me out at all. If i am going to tan my body I want to make sure my face matches.

I am a natural redhead, with white white skin with red undertones. Needless to say, I do not tan naturally. I have had luck with Jergens self tanning lotion though. It gives me a nice glow and a bit of color without looking fake on my naturally pale skin. I do find it has a bit of a stink to it. I am looking forward to going out and trying Dove's Energy Glow!

That does sound like a great idea! It'd be especially great if it had some kind of shimmer/bronzer in it. I like the dial-a-tan products where you can control the degree of tan in it.

I've used this for about a month now, and i love it! i was using jergins before, but it smelled gross. i love this product because it goes on so evenly --- just make sure to use a thin layer around your heals & elbows, and i suggest using a regular lotion on those dry areas first, so you don't end up with dark spots!

Ugh. My tan is gone too! I do look pale and sad. To bring back some of my glow, I exfoliate, and then use Jergens Summer Glow. Once my makeup is on, I use the e.l.f. all over color stick to bring some life back into my cheeks. If only tanning salons weren't expensieve and bad for us!

My skin coloring is fair with blonde hair. When I vacation to a sunny location, I always bring this product with me. Even with SPF45 I usually will turn pink/red vs. brown when being in the sun. I am not sunburned, it is just what happens to us fair haired girls. This moisturizer gives me the nice coloring that vacation should deliver.

I like to use the Jergens gradual tanning lotion. I used to use the Olay version as well, which I think smells better. I think the only downside to these lotions is that they get stuck in the cuticles or any dry skin around your fingers and toes and might turn it a bit yellowy. Make sure when you wash your hands after applying it that you concentrate on scrubbing these spots!

It's not an all-over tanning product per se, but more of a face product. Anytime I'm looking to subtly enhance the glow of my complexion, I turn to tinted moisturizer plainly and simply. Since it's sheer, it's hard to go wrong!

Hey guys, my skin is very sensitive, so I'm scared to try new products. I tried the jergens one once, but the smell totally turned me off. I've also tried the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion, and that was OK. Once again, the smell was a problem. I'm have been looking for one that actually works (especially on sensitive skin) and doesn't have a wierd smell to it, so I'm definitely going to try this product. Dove's products are usually good for people with sensitive skin.

I've been using the L'oreal self-tanning lotion and it works great! it goes on clear and you see the change almost the very next day! I hear that if you get lotions that already have the color in it it becomes streaky. Only cons of the L'oreal one is the smell (smells like sun-block) and you begin to get a little orangey, but that might happen with other self-tanning lotions as well.

I live by Neutrogena's airbrush-like spray tanners. No matter how meticulously I would try to apply lotion/foam/spritz tanners, I always came out with blotches or streaks (not to mention the requisite 20 minutes naked while it dried!) Not this one, though... I can spray my entire body in 2 minutes, and put on my clothes to go out within 5 minutes. By the time I get to wherever I'm going, I have an awesome glow!

Yves Rocher makes a whole line of self tanning prouducts, which I use occasionally, but I like the way the Jergens one smells. It has this warm nutty smell, like almonds, so sometimes I use that. Most of the time, though, I don;t really bother with self tanners at all. I'm pretty pale, and I made peace with that a long time ago.

I have yet to try a selftanner, but this certainly looks promising. Since I live in Southern California, winter is no excuse for being pasty!

I am super pale and always sooo skeptical of self tanners because you can see every streak if applied incorrectly or if the product isn't high quality. However, I used Dove's Energy Glow for a wedding I was attending and I was super suprised to see that it looked so natural - just the right amount of color to notice a difference but not look fake! I liked it better than the mist sprays that I occasionally use!

I absolutely would not be able to make it without energy glow. During the pasty fall/winter seasons when I dont tan, the lotion keeps me with a little bit of color. Enough to make me feel good about my skin and not orange and fake looking. THANKS DOVE

I love this stuff!! I use it everyday! I'm a naturally pasty gal, this stuff is a lifesaver! I use medium in the summer, but light in the winter. Also, if you get one that is too dark, mix it with your fav lotion, it will stretch it, and make it less... dramatic!

My favorite ways to stay 'tan' all year are using bronzer on my cheekbones, forehead, and even a little on my nose and to apply a gradual self-tanner (like the Dove kind mentioned above or even the Target brand works and smells ok too) everyday after I shower to my arms and legs. It makes me feel like I have some color and my friend even asked me the other day if I'd been tanning! ha!

I absolutely love Avon Sun light/medium. I have fairly pale skin, but I tan (and rarely burn) very easily in the summer. It has a tendency to fade somewhat quickly, though. The lotion can be a tad bit streaky if not applied right or too quick, but otherwise I love it.

I love Dove. I tried the Jergens but that one didn't work very well and did smell like I just came out of a tanning booth. I like the Dove I bought it a few days ago because I am going to a reunion. My skin is soft, and I can see a little color but it has only been two days. I can't wait for the end results.

I really like bare mineral's sunless tanner. You can only get it online (or through QVC not really sure), but it works so well. It only takes one application and doesn't turn you orange. Many of my friends have tried it, worry that it will turn them orange, and all have been very pleased with the product.

I have used the Dove Energy Glow and it is a very nice product. Another product that I found to be effective is the Banana Boat Summer Color Self-Tanning Mist. I use it when the weather starts to warm up again and I want to wear shorts but havn't gotten back my tan just yet. It has an "Advanced Fragrance Technology", it has a lime scent instead of the stinky smell that most instant tan has. And it doesnt come off streaky. It lasts for a week, through swimming and showering!!! I love this product!!!!!!

I was wondering, does it collect on your hands, elbows and knees like most sunless tanners. A cool tip if it does for all those out there, dap another type of lotion on those areas and then apply the tanner. You are sort of diluting it. I will be trying this one for sure.

I like it because it not only tans nicely, but it leaves your skin looking very smooth. since tanners smell the first 30 minutes or so, I put it on at night, to allow the tan to develop and the odor to leave before work the next day. Be careful the first 10 to 15 minutes though, or you will "tan" your sheets.

I use Jergens Daily Glow for the face. It has a very gradual change designed just for the face so it will not turn orange. I use mosturizer everyday already on my face, so it is nice to have a little color to it. I don't feel the need to wear as much makeup when I feel like I have a healthy glow just like I do in the summer.

This stuff works pretty well, but I think similar products that are cheaper work just about the same. You will be using a lot of this if you want to keep looking tan all winter, so why not go for something cheaper? The only major difference I noticed between this product and cheaper alternatives is that the Dove smells a little nicer. So if you're worried about smelling like fake tanner all day, then this might be worth the few extra bucks.

I've had a lot of success with Jergens Natural Glow. It's a body lotion that naturally tans your skin. You just have to make sure to apply it evenly and wash your hands when you're done (or you will get orange between your fingers!). It comes in Light, Medium, and Dark - using one darker than your skin tone produces the best results.

I'm half Italian, so I get a really dark tan during the summer but by October, I am whiter than the ghosts in everyones yards. I don't really like tanning beds because they are so bad for your health. I tried Jergens before because I heard that there was an article about how it didn't streak, but i smelled horrible and I didn't even work that well, I used it for a month straight with no real color change. So I might try this one...I hope it works.

Pasty pale is my usual tone so this sounds like it could really perk me up!

For a constant 'tan' look without turning orange try the Jergens Natural Glow (I find it better on fairer skin), and to glam up and even-out skin tone on medium to darker skin try L'oreal Sublime Bronze moisturizer (if applied for 3 days will not significantly darken skin, adds a nice smooth finish.)

I heard a tip about getting your nails whiter. I use self-tanner and decided to try it for myself, and it really works! Pour a small amount of hydrogen peroxide into a small dish or bowl (in my opinion use pyrex so you don't bleach color from a ceramic bowl), and soak your fingertips for a few minutes. It will remove any self-tanner that may have remained on your nails and in your cuticles!
