Christian Louboutin

Tuesday, December 09, 2008

You may have noticed red soled shoes gracing the feet of many celebs.   What are these ruby red shoes you ask, and where can I find them?  They are the Christian Louboutin shoes, all of these shoes have a red sole and can be found at high end department stores but will cost you around $700…pricy!!! No need to fret because my friend came up with a genius idea.  She went and had her regular stiletto heels resoled with a red rubber sole and then she took a red nail polish (you could also try a red Sharpie) and colored in the rest of the shoe to look just like the real ones!  And the best part you really can’t even tell the difference unless you closely inspect.  So, if you are feeling craftsy this is a great fashion trick to try!

I've seen these shoes and think they are adorable. But I would not spend $700 for them. I don't know if I'd want to attempt the craft project either. I think it would end up being more hassle and even embarrasment in the end.

Are the shoes pictured the original or the one's your friend had re-soled? I would love to see both of them so we can compare! Also Achelle, when I originally clicked on the blog link for the newsletter I received via e-mail today, it took me to a past blog, not this one, so I was a bit confused. I tried to get to it a few different ways and it just kept taking me back to that blog, and not the current one. Either way, I'm glad I finally found it! Haha!

Such a great idea... Especially with the economy the way it is today. Many of us can't afford to spend $700 on a par of shoes. I've never been the type to focus on labels because I believe we can look good in anything that we put on if we put in the effort.

I LOVE these shoes (even though I couldn't afford them) I think they are adorable for the holidays too. I think the nail polish or sharpie would eventually wear off....maybe some red spray paint would work but you would have to be very careful and use some kind of stencil to get it exactly where you needed it????

I LOVE those red heeled shoes. Of course, I could only afford one at a time but if I ever hit the jackpot they would be one of my first purchases. There is a cheaper alternative at DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) for about $60, you can hardly tell the difference. I would wear these with skinny jeans, a wraparound sweater and lots of chunky jewelry.

I would not (underline underline underline) buy shoes for $700. I think that if I tried to make shoes more 'in style' I would end up making them look bad. I would much rather buy a $20 knockoff pair at payless or something. ( idunno if they have em, just a thought).

Where do you purchase red rubber soles ? Great idea !! I also have a great idea for gorgeous brows. If you are a fan of clear mascara ! Which may also be used on brows. You can save alot of money. Once clear mascara is gone or on the dry side, simply spray with a firm hairspray ! This does wonders for gorgeous brows (tip: NO LONGER USE ON LASHES WILL IRRITATE THE EYE) Thank you

I've dropped hints that these shoes would make an awesome Christmas gift but this trip may save me hundreds of dollars. Thanks

There are a lot of things that people pay top dollar for simply because of the brand name. To name a few, Tiffany's, Louis Vuitton, Dior etc. However, even though these brands can run up to thousands of dollars, you are also paying for the quality and material. Louboutins are hand made, and uses the best leather and materials for their shoes. Not everyone can afford $700 shoes, and honestly, I can't either, but the two pairs that I do own are going to last me a lifetime because of the quality and comfort. And no, I didn't pay $700 - I purchased mine on sale. You wouldn't be caught dead with a fake bag, so why fake it with shoes?
