New Year Resolutions

Friday, January 02, 2009

Whenever a new year rolls around, it always feels to me like I’m getting a clean slate. So in that spirit, I got to thinking about health and wellness and what the best way is to begin anew. I had heard about the idea of a “cleansing” diet, so I decided to look into it. A cleansing diet involves drinking only juices made of fruits and vegetables in place of solid foods. Your body is only taking in nutritional benefits, no fillers or chemicals from solid foods. This way, your body can rid itself of all of its toxins and really become your clean slate. I love this idea for a new year. After your body has been cleansed like this, it allows you to start over with your dietary habits. Not only this, but the juice diet also gives you more energy, boosts your immune system, and clears up your skin. What do you think? Get more info at www.blueprintcleanse.com. What are your favorite ways to feel healthy and rejuvenated to start the New Year off right?  Any New Year resolutions?

My fave way to feel rejuvenated is to take a nice warm oil bath and drink some lemon and water together cause it cleanses the system. My New Years resolutions are too take better care of my hair and body, find a new job, and try to use more natural products for my body, and pray more often :).

I'm definitely looking into this one, thanks! I did a 2 week cleanse before but it didn't really seem to work. I want to try again though.

I feel that if you do the juice diet how do you mix the juices at work. I meen if you do a juice at home it becomes warm and nasty by lunchtime.

My favorite ways are by eating fresh cold salads, watching my sugar intake and only splurging on the foods i shouldnt eat on sundays. My new years resolutions are to be more responsible, get in shape, and to start planning for my future.

My resolution is to take better care of me! I sometimes forget the little things that are not really so little ... like moisturizing, S.P.F and vitamins!

This sounds like a healthy diet. My friend goes on a liquid diet where she just drinks water mixed with lemon and tea and she says it gives her so much energy. I think the tea supplies the caffeine but it doesn't sound good for the body.

I've tried this in November the day before Thanksgiving, and I thought I would starve without food, but you know what? I wasn't craving anything! I was full and satisfied with the carrot, strawberry, apple and mango juice mix. DELISH!

I always love hitting up the gym before work. It gives me energy and focus to last through a long day. Les Mils classes like BodyPump and RPM are my favorites!

Not this particular diet, but my friend needed to be fit for a tournament he was to be in, so during the one month prior, he started to eat only fruits and vegetables. He was often hungry because the body digested cantaloupes, watermelon, etc so quickly, but after one week his hole body broke out in rashes. He went to the doctor and found out that it was his body getting rid of all the toxins in his body, like some waste that stays in the lining of your stomach. I dont know about this particular cleansing, but an all fruit diet may be a good precursor to starting a healthy diet. As always when starting a drastic diet, consult a physician!

if you can't juice your own vegs and fruits, make sure your store juices are 100% juice. i don't make resolutions anymore, because i feel like a loser when i break them. trying to set goals.

Sounds interesting, but I'd rather eat the fruits and veggies than just drink the juice.

So while the Blue Print Cleanse sounds fantastic, I have trouble believing that E.L.F. users are capable of affording $170 for 2 days worth of juices. I know I don't have it in me... Instead, I plan to SAVE up for the Wii Fit game which is a $120 package that keeps on giving...no 2 day limit here. The game paired with some naturally antioxidant green tea (nice and hot in the winter months), and hopefully I can be on my way to a more health conscious individual over the new year.

I've looked one of these kind of diets in the past & it sounded pretty good in the start because it also sheds some pounds, but then there came all the health risks & I didnt wanna put myself indanger, so I looked at other ways to get healthy. Basically, if you like then go for it. Working out makes me feel rejuvenated. Lets jus see if that routine will last. xoxo... j0babey

It seems like it's actually not healthy. Your not getting any other food groups except for fruit. My favorite ways to feel healthy are by going to gym and by cutting down on sugar. My New Year resolution is to cut down on sweets...not working that wel... :)

To feel healthy and rejuvenated to start the New Years, i like to drink a lot more water or juices that dont have added sugar in it. They taste delicious and are good for you! A great facial mask is definitely rejuvenating as well :)

I absolutely love doing a cleanse, mostly because of the amazing way it makes me feel after. My New Year's resolutions is to try to be on time, I am always late, so its something I really need to work on.

My new years resolution is to actually learn more ways to be healthy that will work with my lifestyle. I don't want to set myself up for failure by jumping from one extreme to another. I want to start step by step into becoming a healthier person.

Thanks for this post, I was looking into something similar but this cleanse sounds more doable and I plan to try it, along with colonics. My favorite ways to feel healthy and rejuvinated are to exfoliate, eat more fiber and add a little bit of walking into my regimen. I plan to get back to the gym but have to start slow, so walking is my first step and cleansing.

I've tried these juice diets & they are great! Your body feels rebooted. However the raw veggies may upset your stomach. Travel with tums or something to curb sudden cramps. It's all part of the process!

My new year resoultion is try to drink at least 8 cups of water and stop getting sick! By drinking water it would purify my skin and hopefully be acne free!

My New Year resolution is just to surround myself with positivity and not sweat the little things. That's pretty much it. Move forward and don't look back!
