Damone Roberts

Friday, March 13, 2009

Ok ladies we spend so much time with our hair, makeup and wardrobe that we sometimes neglect a very important feature…our eyebrows!! I like to think that the eyebrows frame the face, that’s why I spend extra care and time in maintaining and grooming them. I discovered the Brow Divas at Damone Roberts salon here in New York City and I am in love. It’s amazing how a little waxing , tweezing and filling in your brows with makeup can change your appearance! I highly recommend a trip to Damone Roberts for a tutorial on how to shape your brows for your face. Here’s my elf product recommendations for fabulous brows!

I highly recommend the bronzing powder. The colors are amazing and they have great staying power. It goes on very light and gives you that sunkissed look with out spending unhealthy time in the sun. It goes on very easily with the bronzing brush, which is one of the best brushes I've every had at, hands down, the best price!!

What a great reminder about paying attention to the eyebrows. I always have trouble knowing how to "deal" with my eyebrows, so it's often just easier to not doing anything. I do tweeze my eyebrows, but the best experience I've had is when I get them threaded. I hope to find a place here in town that offers that service, but in the meantime, I'm going to try and treat them better starting today! Thank you.

The problem with ELF brow products-- and this is true of most companies-- is that there aren't any auburn hues. Makes it hard for the gingers like me. ;)

Damone Roberts has absolutely the BEST eyebrows anywhere!!!! I see him on one of those makeover shows on TLC or WE. I have so many problems with my eyebrows. They are so unruly. I looked at the eyebrow kit, and I think that may be just what I need! My girlfriend has it and LOVES it!

Haven't tried these products yet. I was thinking about getting the eyebrow treat & tame. I agree... I think it is important to spend time on brows. Although tweezing them or waxing them too thin is not a great look. Full yet clean lines is what is in now.

I've always had trouble with my horrible eyebrows, so when I discovered E.L.F. and the many products they sold for eyebrows, I was so excited!! So since the E.L.F products are so cheap purchased everything they had for eyebrows. The tweezers were my favorite and they are better then many other expensive tweezers I've owned in the past. I LOVE ELF!!

Even now in every picture I have the Mr. Spock from Star Trek eyebrow, one higher than the other (though thats just the way my face is when I get nervous....I don't photograph well) Maybe the makeup will work a little magic.

I always liked my eyebrows....They have a natural arch to them and were never thick. Some people used to assume that my eyebrows where arched while others would tell me to arch them because with the natural arch that I have...tweaking them a little bit would frame my face all the more. So a few weeks ago I to took the big plunge and decided to them them threaded . Results: my eyebrows were puffy and swollen for 2 days in a neat line where the hair was removed...as soon as I cleared that up (cold compresses) I got a neat row of white head pimples under each eyebrow that lasted an additional 3 days. It has now been 2 weeks since I got it done the hair hasn't grown back yet...and now that I have resolved the skin side effects of the procedure you know what I have noticed....NOTHING....The stylist kept the exact same arch that I already had and made them like a "mili-centimeter"(if that is even a word) thinner. I asked many friends and relatives what they though and they said I looked the same(an now i have to use gel and an eyebrow brush to keep them in place when before they looked perfect after just washing my face) . Moral of the story: some people have naturally would others will gladly pay for. If you have it naturally just say thanks to the one above and save yourself the money and hassle. It is nice to look at and try new things...but it's okay to not need the extra cosmetic step and play up other features in order to highlight the ones you already like....This goes for great cheek bones, naturally long thick eyelashes, full pouty lips... whatever...I used to always tell my mom I like cosmetic stuff to enhance my features not take away from them...and my little eyebrow arching mishap made me appreciate that statement all the more...Happy Beautifying everyone!

It is so true how grooming your brows can completely change and improve your looks. I used to do brow shaping when I worked as an esthetician, and it was so gratifying to see how a subtle change could do so much! It is always better to start with subtle shaping, more brow hairs can always be taken away later (but it is hard to put them back :))

That is true because their are some girls that don't take care of their eyebrows. sometimes their eyebrows don't match their hair color and it doesn't coordinate with their makeup. I hate this because I have light brown eyebrows and I want to dye my hair a light color like caramel, but i cant because I don't know how to match them.

Achelle.. I absolutely love your products and the price is of course amazing!! Nowadays that we are really watching our pennies it's great to see people like you make items so affordable! Your eyelash curler is the best that I have ever purchased and everytime I lend it out my GFs always ask where I bought it! Can you imagine their faces when I tell them it's one of the best lash curlers I have ever bought and it's was only $1!!!!!!! Thank you so much for the ELF products! My only question is will it stay this price always?? Thank you, elza clark elza.clark@dhs.gov

I LOVE Damone Roberts!! You can catch him on OLD episodes of "10 Years YOunger" on TLC. It airs weekdays from 1:00 'til 2:00pm EST. I think he should be on the episodes from 2004-2006. He's really great with eyebrows!! Personally I think he's a godsend when it comes to eyebrows. He's really great at applying makeup as well!!

I've been blessed with naturally deeply colored eyebrows, but often they're lacking that little extra something. The treat & tame has helped me alot in the past! (: Oh, and the lifter on the eyebrow lifter & filler helps to define my face along with the brows. Great products for anyone for sooo cheap! Keep it up.

I totally agree. No matter expertly you apply eye makeup if you neglect your brows it's a total waste. It draws attention to the most expressive part of your face. Remember the eyes are a window to the soul.
