Summer of Love The beginning of summer signals many wonderful changes: going to the beach, tanning without a tanning bed or bronzer, and switching drink choices from heavy liquor to fruit-infused cocktails. And for music lovers, it also marks the beginning of summer festival season! This summer, you can look forward to many big names and exciting reunions coming to town, chief amongst them, the reunion of No Doubt, the Bob Dylan/John Mellencamp/Willie Nelson combo, Coldplay, and Nine Inch Nails. So for those of you looking for a little buffet of sounds, check out our list of top 6 summer festivals:  Lollapalooza Revived once again by founder Perry Farrell, the festival no longer tours, but is instead seated in Grant Park, Chicago. This year it features Depeche Mode, Tool, The Killers, Jane's Addiction, Beastie Boys, and Kings of Leon over the course of three days.   Dates: Aug. 7-9, Ticket cost: $190 (for all three days), Website: www.lollapalooza.com

Summerfest
Drawing between 800K and 1M people to Henry Maier Festival Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin every year, it is billed as the biggest music festival in the world. Over the course of 11 days, you can see up to 700 bands, and this year the lineup boasts Bon Jovi, No Doubt, Conor Oberst, Asher Roth, The Fray, KISS, and Judas Priest. The festival doesn't rely on traditional advertising and commercial influence, maybe because the super affordable ticket price helps spread the word.

Dates: June 25- July 5, Ticket cost: General Admission 8$-15$, Website: www.summerfest.com

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival

Dates: June 11 - 14, Ticket cost: $249.90, Website: www.bonnaroo.com

Essence Music Festival
Going strong since its 1995 start, Essence is a festival that focuses on African-American music and takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana in the Superdome. A bit on the pricey side, headliners this year include Beyonce, John Legend, Lionel Richie, Maxwell, Ne-Yo, and Al Green.

Dates: July 3-5, Ticket cost: $544.50, Website: www.essencemusicfestival.com

All Points West
In its second year, All Points West (sometimes referred to as the East Coast version of Coachella) takes place in Liberty State Park in the Garden State over the course of three days. This year's headliners include Coldplay, Beastie Boys, Tool, My Bloody Valentine, and Echo and the Bunnymen.
