Dry Shampoo

Friday, June 12, 2009

You may have recently heard of Dry Shampoo from the “I’m a Celebrity, get me out of here” TV show featuring Spencer & Heidi Pratt. LOL, if you witnessed Heidi’s obsession with this product then you may be interested to know what Dry Shampoo is. Dry Shampoo is a spray formula (similar to hairspray) that instantly absorbs impurities and oil on the hair and scalp. It is perfect for the gym, flights, camping or just to freshen up your hair for a quick clean feel without having to take a shower/use water. Just spray from about 10 inches from the hair, leave on for about 2 minutes, and then brush in for clean hair! Check out Oscar Blandi’s Dry Shampoo Spray for more details.

This dry shampoo isone of the best inovations recently. There was another version of this back in the 70's, and I used to use that on long, straight hair when you didn't have time to wash and dry everyday. Oscar Blandi's is a great smelling prudct that really makes you hair look and smell fresh and clean. Great for all ages too!

My hair gets oily really fast but is so thick that it takes forever to dry after a shower, so Dry Shampoos have always seemed like one of the ultimate beauty cures to me. However, I'm always hoping that such a product won't cost an arm and a leg. Apparently this one is $11 for a 1.4 oz bottle.

wow! If that really works i'll have to try it! There has been many times, especially during finals week, where i've been extremely busy that i don't have time to even eat, especially take a shower. lol gross i know, but when you're a college student sacrifices have to be made. So if this dry shampoo really works, then honestly it's a freaking miracle. haha. And it would be perfect for those backpacking trips, where you don't want to be carrying anything more than a sleeping bag and some food. It looks small enough, and it would be perfect to slip into a pocket.

I've always wanted to try out dry shampoo, but never had the guts to. I've heard mixed reviews on these kind of products. Some say it's like putting baby powder in your hair (if that's the case, I don't want to use it) but then many say it's done wonders for them! It's not good to wash your hair EVERYday so this kind of product would/should definitely be a must-have. Perhaps I should try it out...

I think this is a great idea! I have heard of it, but I have never tired it. I wash my hair every other day which by boyfriend thinks its gross, but I think the natural oils help my hair. So this would be ideal for the days I don't wash my hair but I would want to try it out.

Hmmm. I don't think I'd use this on a daily basis. But I think it would be awesome for camping or activities in the woods, or maybe even the beach. It might work as a good temp "hair wash" when a bonafide shower isn't available anyway. (Might even work good for letting kids occasionally skip showers in the summer. :) )

i personally love this stuff it is so amazing. i went to Mexico on a mission trip and i brought a few bottles of this because there was not an easy access to a show and this stuff was a miracle though i must say you shouldn't use it more than three times in a week without washing your hair because your hair needs to be washed, but this does a pretty good job. Also i like to use it on my bangs sometime when they are being difficult and separating and it keeps them together really well! only problem it can be a little on the expensive side.

I've never used dry shampoo before, but I have seen many different brands of it. Dry shampoo seems like something that I should use since I work out all of the time, but I don't really know how good it works and which brands get the job done. I have heard that baby powder makes somewhat of a great dry shampoo too and I've used it before. All I do is dust a little in my hands, rub it through my hair and blow my hair with a hair dryer so it can get rid of excess oil. It's cheap too!

I actually work at Ulta, and we sell this stuff like hot cakes! LOL. People can't seem to get enough of it, even at its pricey pricetage. T3, Matrix, and Varooom all make dry shampoos. Whats great about them is that they're tinted in color, but truth is you can probably use some basic baby powder, and it would essentially do the same job. You just have to be careful how much you put in, comb the rest out, and you're good for the day. I highly recommend washing your hair the next. It gives you lots of volume as well!

I used this product… even though it is not a 100% substitute for shampoo, it is a great invention. For obvious results I would suggest to use more product around the area right above the forehead as this portion gets greasy fast and is very noticeable. Excessive usage may weaken the roots but it is great for an emergency squeaky clean look. Even if you guys are not sure about the product, I would still suggest you to buy the 3.2oz pack as it is more economical. I am sure once you buy it you would end up using it all the time. Have fun!!

I love to use Dry Shampoos. My favorite is PSSSSST. You can buy it at your local drugstore for less than $10. I purchased the Oscar Blandi once. It lasted less that 2 weeks. I could not believe how little there was for the price. Having longer hair, I shampoo once every 3 days and the dry shampoos work well for your in between days. But again the PSSST does the job just fine.

I don't know about dry shampoos...I've never tried the people ones. I've used the dry shampoos for cats on my cat and it didn't really do a good job. Guess I'm old fashioned. But I would be willing to give it a try.

I've used different dry shampoos since the 1970's! So far none are as good as plain old cornstarch you buy at the grocery store. I put it in a puffer, apply and brush out. I even use a couple spray of my perfume or an essential oil in the cornstarch box before applying - smells good...

WOW. That is so cool! I wonder if you can you buy this kind of thing at some drugstores, instead of just the specialty stores. Anyhow, I will definately be looking into buying this product!
