Sani Seat

Monday, August 03, 2009

Ok, so on a recent trip to Chicago I was amazed by the most unusual/brilliant product…the Sani Seat. In the Chicago O’Hare Airport bathroom there is a mechanical toilet seat cover that automatically replaces with a clean plastic seat cover before every use! No more toilet paper lay downs or those tissue thin covers!! Now why didn’t I think of that?? Ever have a moment where you wish you had thought of that? What was it?
And for every valid web comment on this blog only we will give you a Free $5 e.l.f. coupon via email just to say thanks (1 per person, to the first 100 posts only).

Yes I have had a moment, it was the staple-free stapler. Granted it does not staple a ton of papers at a time, but still a very green idea.

OMG when I saw these in the airport I was so tempted to whip out my camera and take photos, but I didn't. They are the coolest thing I have ever seen! Thanks for the video, I have to show my hubby, I was trying to explain the concept to him and he just didn't get it!

I have! One thing that I was always like "oh my gosh...its so simple yet ingenious!" is the little covers that you put on cans of pop to keep bugs/bees out! it super simple yet awesome...especially when you have someone allergic! i wish i would have come up with that! :)

I can recall having to go to the bathroom really bad, like omg I wont make it to the bathroom bad and I either had to squat and go to the bathroom or place tissue on the toilet seat one by one. That was the worst for me. The sani seat will save alot of women from squatting. LOL

I really hope they put these in bathrooms every where! I wish I had thought of a ton of stuff whenever I watch infomercials. Although even if I had I probably wouldn't have bothered to invent and market a product so it would've been a wasted thought anyway.

Wow that is very useful! Especially since toilet seat covers don't fit very well on top of toilets. But what happens to the old toilet seat cover? You can't see where it goes. Also, I throw clean toilet seat covers into the toilet to prevent splash-backs when you do your duty in the toilet. Without the toilet seat covers, I'd just end up wasting toilet paper by throwing tp in the toilet to prevent the splash-back. Just a thought.

I hope I would see these in more places. Though I am a bit confused, do those plastic sheet get thrown away or is it recycled? Let's hope these will reduce the nasty bathroom sights that we see!

I love those seat covers! Whenever I fly out of O'Hare I wish they put those things everywhere. As a child, always sitting in the back seat of my mom's car, I thought I would invent rear windshield wipers when I grew up (after sitting in a rainstorm trying to look out the window). Little did I know, they probably existed already just not on our car. LOL

The Sani Seat is a great idea, esp. when you really, really, really have to use the bathroom and it seems to take a long time to cover the toilet seat. The moment where I wish I could invent something is a way to always have toilet paper in public restrooms. Nothing sucks more when you really have to use the bathroom and realize that there's no toilet paper.

My comment is related to the toilet seat covers. Not long ago I saw an infomercial about a product where women can use a cardboard cone to go to a public restroom. You essentially are able to use the restroom standing. I think it's a great idea for dirty public bathrooms. I wish I'd thought of it!

That's a fantastic idea! Does it cost to use that toilet? Now if all the public washrooms around the world can do that, we would have alot more #@$%^&'s. Just a Drop is a product that came out recently (Why didn't I think of that?) that after you take your dump and if it doesn't smell like roses, you press just a drop and apparently the smell goes away. It is a nice consideration for the next soul that has to use the same stall.:)

I agree...toilet paper on a public bathroom seat is basically a nightmare, especially when you are holding your purse, navigating around your luggage, and racing for your flight(ah!). So the sani seat is an amazing creation, but I can't help but wonder, where do all the used covers go? I'm sure they don't re-use them...but i'm a bit skeptical. hmm...

I really like that idea. I hate it when I get into the stall only to find out there's no more seat covers. And I refuse to sit on it without one. Plus I think this contraption would save a lot of trash and clogging up the pipes.

Seems totally wasteful. It is your but guys! If it is dry and not dirty it really shouldn't matter too much, it isn't your face you are putting on it. Considering most people seem to not even wash their hands afterwards I don't see why they care so much about the seat being covered. The not washing your hands thing, that really creeps me out. ICK

Oh my god! This is ingenious! Saves a lot or time in the bathroom from trying to situate the thin toilet seat covers or strips of TP. I wish this was added to all public restrooms!
