Red Lip Color

Friday, August 28, 2009

Red can be a hard lip shade to wear sometimes, but definitely a fun color to try. I recommend finding a color that matches your skin tone to sport that perfect hue. If you are cool (pinkish or reddish undertones) pick a red with blue or pink tones, try our Plumping Lip Glaze in Ruby Kiss, Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Cherry Tart or our Mineral Lipstick in Cheerful Cherry. If you are a warm (olive or yellow undertones) pick a red with orange or brown tones, try our mineral Lipstick in Royal Red or our Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Ruby Slipper.

I was afraid of red lip color until very recently, it always felt that it was too dramatic. I did however recently order a couple of red shades on a whim. I found that the Ruby Kiss lip glaze works well with my tones(warm) adding a subtle color and making my tan pop. The Ruby Slipper is more dramatic, but without being overwhelming. I find that thick bright reds make me look like I am playing dress up instead of complementing the rest of my look. Both of these colors enhance instead of detract.

I am so glad that this line of make-up was introduced to me. Just getting into the field can be overwhelming, especially when make-up these days is so expensive. I was worried about having all different lines of make-up, because it was cheaper just to find products on sell, but we all know as make-up artist it is better and more professional to have one line to use for clients. I was told about the line, so I went on your website. I was shocked and blown away, when I seen the prices for this make-up. At first I thought this is a joke, or the make-up is not good quality, but I was wrong. I felt like this was a dream come true. I am hooked, and now I feel more professional, and confident. Thanks a bunch. iexpress

I always have trouble wearing red lipstic., Since I have very fair skin it's hard to find the right shade that won't make me looked washed out or crazy! My friend gave me some makeup for a gift, and the Royal Red mineral lipstick was included- I have to say, it's been the best color for me yet. :)

In past reviews of the reds in the mineral lipstick line, I keep reading that they aren't true to color. Cheerful Cherry is more on the bright pink side and Royal Red is more on the maroon side. I haven't bought them personally yet, but I do plan to just because I'm still searching for that perfect red!! Worst case scenario, I'll have two new lipsticks in my collection :)

I was not too happy with the mineral lipstick because I felt the colors were a bit "off" and some were too light to be seen. However, the lip glosses are to die for. I am going to try the liquid lipstick and see if I can find my perfect sexy red for fall and winter. I love this website and makeup and I am here EVERY DAY shopping for one thing or another.

I really like the studio line brushes because they pick up the right amount I need and their durable unlike some other brands that shed right after you use them. Hopefully e.l.f will come out with more items for the studio line!

Red is certainly a hard shade to wear...not many people pull it off very well. The suggestions are nice, but I think I'd stick to my pinks. I was rather impressed with the Studio line. However I missed the big sale last time...rather disappointed with that.

I love their brushes from the studio line! Just ordered some recently and they're sooo soft and they look really sexy. also love the size of the brushes. A lot of brushes I've bought before are either too small or too big but e.l.f's are just perfect. Also they surprisingly don't shed a lot which you'd expect from $3 brushes but not e.l.f. Anyway I'm not daring enough to try a red color usually but I might try the recommended ones for warm skin tone. I absolutely loved natural nymph I've been wearing it more often than my mac lipsticks.
