How Can You Get the Fall Look?

Saturday, October 17, 2009

As Fall quickly approaches we are all on the look out for a fashionably chic look for the cooler weather. This year many of us embrace our need for a cheaper way to get our beauty looks on and what better way than with some great products from E.L.F. ranging from $1 to $3.   So what's in for Fall 2009? And how can you get the look?   Here's the deets for getting your Fall trend look on with breaking your beauty bank.   Fresh flawless skin with minimal eyes and strong lips are making their way around the runway this season. Keep things minimal, fresh, and flawless by using a light foundation for a more natural finish. Try smoothing on e.l.f. All Over Cover Stick on the sides of your nose and blending outward. Use this all in one stick to not only create a smooth canvas for makeup but also to conceal minor skin imperfections such as pimples or dark circles uner your eyes. Try out e.l.f. Eye Widener for a simple yet flattering way to make eyes look awake, fresh, and pretty. Apply this creamy white pencil along your upper lash line and smudge it up a tiny bit now follow up by applying to the inside lower lids so your eyes appear bigger and more awake thanks to the white sparkle of the pencil. Don't over do your blush just a simple swipe of a pinch of pink to give yourself a just out of the cold look will flatter your face and keep it natural and fresh, try using e.l.f. Natural Radiance Blush in Flushed. Finally give yourself the dramatic finish by applying a super bold shade of lipstick to lips.    The cat eye is a classic look that's chic and always in fashion. This Fall season it makes it come back paired up with a strong lip look. To get the look try out thew e.l.f. Waterproof Eyeliner or if you're handy with liquid liner give the e.l.f. Liquid Eyeliner a whirl. Each will give you a smudge proof way to create a precise line on lids. Remember to "flick" upwards for that dramatic "cat" look. Complete your look by applying a bold shade of red lipstick to lips for that pin up girl look.   Smoky eyes never go out of style for Fall and as always they are a dominant presence this season as they are almost every season.   Create a custom palette of shades using e.l.f. Custom Eye Shades and Custom Palette for $5. Pair up shades Ivory and Dusk for a simply smoky eye or go dramatic with e.l.f. Get The Look Smoky Eyes Kit which contains everything you need for creating that perfect smoky eye.   If lean towards the more unconvential side of Fall and prefer a more colorful, fun look try pairing up various shades of aquas, blues, pinks, or purples together in any number of combinations using some of e.l.f.'s Custom Palette selections.    As the economy begins to make it's repair and moves forward I believe we are still trying to find decent, inexpensive ways to create a beautiful face. Any number of the looks above can be created using dozens of items available from e.l.f. for a tiny chunk of change. Why pay $60 and upwards to create one look when you can spend $5 or less for that same look.   The season doesn't always have to be sticking to what everyone else is wearing, try making a few trends of your own! the Muse is a 30 something New York native who enjoys playing around with makeup a bit too much.

She's an average, everyday girl that plans to take over the cosmetic world one day.  Until than she sticks around her corner of the web where she writes, babbles, and reviews makeup daily in her free time.  When she's not moonlighting as the editor for Musings of a Muse she is an Insurance Broker, underwriting commercial and personal policies.

Her blog is up and running now for two years and is quite a popular destination for a large Asian reader base due to her Japanese and Korean product reviews.   Her beauty abroad reviews bring her blog full circle reaching readers within Europe, Asia, and the US.

Since I purchased the Shielding Hydro Tint this summer and used it in the summer (which is a bit heavy if you have oily skin) and continue to use it, I love it. I'm happy I purchased it. I use an SPF of 30-60 on my face, put the Shielding Hydro Tint on all over, then apply some concealer and light powder to finish it off. It doesn't look cakey on my skin. I like the dewy look but I want products that have sufficient sunscreen ingredients in them. Then I'll apply a blush either a peachy colour which is perfect for my tone (light to medium) or a peachy-rose-pink colour. I can wear this look all-year round. For lipstick/lipgloss, Super Glossy Lip Shine Spf 15 in Goddess or Candlelight or Pink Kiss or a pink/red stain. I can be quite pale in the winter since living here in North America, we don't see alot of sun in the dead of winter. Its dark at 6am and gets dark close to 7pm even earlier moving into December. Gross! I curl my lashes with Elf's eyelash curler that cost me $1-and apply some mascara, to the eyelids I use Elf's Mineral Eyeshadow Primer sometimes without putting on eyeshadow. It brightens my eyes. Even putting concealer on your eyelids helps them look less tired especially if your heading out after work. For eyeliner, sometimes I use a cheap, brown pencil eyeliner on top of the eyelids, not really on the bottom anymore but that's me unless I'm heading out into the evening then I'll put some on. I like to look as natural as possible with some colour at the same time not overdoing it.
