Thursday, October 22, 2009 I like to mix and match beauty lines (everything can’t be e.l.f.). As such, I was excited to learn about Purple Lab, new beauty line that launched earlier this year. Created by long-time beauty insider Karen Robinovitz, the current focus of this line is the lipgloss. I love the personalized details that have gone into this brand. Each gloss has a cute little name (i.e. “Red Sole” based on Karen’s love of Christian Louboutin shoes) and comes with notes including a kiss mark from Karen. I’m most excited about their SWAC (Sealed With a Cure) lipgloss. Especially since it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I like that 20% of the proceeds go to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation. I was sent this lipgloss to review and I was impressed by the story behind the gloss and the smooth (not sticky) feel of the gloss. Best of all, it’s a pretty pink shade with gold flecks.
Currently, the Purple Lab line is being sold in small specialty boutiques like Scoop and Fred Segal as well as a few online sites. Their e-commerce site will launch on November 1st, so the products will be easily available to all. There will be a variety of “Double Duty Beauty” items planned including a mascara/eyeliner. Their focus is on providing products with multiple benefits. Pretty packaging and great ingredients…I’m in!
