The looks were neat however it didn't appear that the false eyelashes were applied correctly. It looked like they weren't even attached at the ends!! |

no doubt, i am a major fan of the e.l.f cosmetics line, but may i suggest that, as opposed to disabling both comments and ratings on your youtube videos, you take some of the critiques into consideration? i found myself agreeing (with the majority of commenters) that the overall result of the halloween looks were... less than flattering and seem as though they were executed by a novice.
the complexion of the first model ended up looking blotchy and uneven all over, the definition of the eyes were so subdued and monotone that it just looked as though it was just eyeshadow that had been smudged and faded from the night before, and the distinction between the lips and the "blood" was none-existant and just made it appear as though her lipstick had been smeared.
and as for the second model, i believe that, if the mineral eyeshadows had been used, as opposed to the duo eyeshadow creams, the eye make-up wouldn't have seemed so cakey and badly blended. also, the near bubblegum color of her lips were very unflattering with her skintone. if anything, i believe a darker, more purple color would have been more fitting or at least make her look, for lack of a better term, less trashy.
again, please let me emphasis: i do believe you guys have great products, and i do believe they can produce some attractive halloween make-up looks.
however, it is not all the viewers and their ratings/comments that are wrong. these tutorials could be better improved with the techniques implimented, the products used, and the colors chosen. |
