Wednesday, February 10, 2010 With the holiday season behind us, the "Holy cow! What did I do to gain these 10 -20 lbs" season is staring us right in the face. There are a few things that you can do to make yourself look great and feel great, if you're here, regardless of how much work you're planning to get back into shape. The most important thing you should know about weight loss, is that there is only one true means of losing weight (without surgery). You must burn more calories than you consume each day. The trick is, you have to eat enough not to starve your body, as this will cause your body to store every available calorie you eat so when your routine lightens, the weight will flood back onto your frame. Who wants that? In addition to successfully keep the weight off and be healthy it's important to make sure what you eat contains the nutrients to keep you healthy. So what's a skin care guy telling you what you probably already know. For skin, this exercise thing you do, creates a harsh environment for your skin and prevents a natural glow from being able to emerge! Just think about all that excess sweat and dirt you expose yourself to while your pores are opening to release the heat. So let's say you've lost those excess pounds. Guess what's shown up in its place? Sagging, dull, blemished and uneven toned skin. This can be true on your body, as well as on your face. Oh, and because you didn't get the nutrients you needed during this process, everything you eat now seems to make you gain weight twice as fast. So what can you do to keep your skin looking gorgeous during your commitment to lose those pounds and keep it off when you've reached your goal? Keep a commitment to exercising- even a little bit every day even after you reach your goal. You've probably heard that doing cardio exercises are great for burning fat fast. When you reach your goal, DO MORE! Walking is one of the simplest, cheapest and most effective ways of doing this. Continue to do anything from 10 minutes or 30, you can go fast or slow, you can walk on the flat or on hills - it can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be. It can even be skipping the elevator and taking a flight of stairs as you come to work. Now that you're working on the hard part, here's the easy part.... First, to keep your skin glowing and looking trim and toned, use a descent exfoliator that will help to keep your skin fresh and healthy. I can't recommend enough my Firming Body Polish . Many of my celebrity clients use it because of how well it works to make skin look flawless -something their livelihood depends on. It is made with just the right amount of antioxidants and other skin care goodies that will leave your skin perfect! Second, while you're doing the hardest of exercises while trying to get back into shape, you can kill two birds with one stone by drinking my Firming or Replenishing Skin Balance Waters. You'll stay hydrated and boost your body's own ability to build a radiant glow when you're done. The best part is, not only is calorie free, preservative free, sugar and sodium free, it delivers the antioxidants key to keeping you looking beautiful. I hope your new year is an amazingly beautiful one!
