Grammy Fashion

Wednesday, February 03, 2010

I was very impressed with this year’s Grammy performances and fashion!! The Pink glitter in the air performance was truly magical and the Michael Jackson tribute with all the big time singers was moving!! Other performances…a little lacking, I’m sorry Taylor Swift I love ya, but the duet was just off. The fashion varied with an even short dress to long dress ratio it seemed. Lady Gaga continued to bring the shock factor with her outfit (I feel sorry for the people that had to sit behind her). Overall a very entertaining show!! What did you think? Any outfits or performances you loved or hated?

Overall the salute to Michael Jackson was ok, I was not expecting the earth song; but it was good. His children looked fabulous and so cute! Lady Gaga was a bit extreme (that is her style) but overall the dresses were exceptional!

I can't stand Lady Gaga's fashion but I can appreciate her performances. I loved Fergie during the BEP performance and Beyonce's hair, although I thought her dress during her performance wasn't very flattering. Pink is hot and I can't believe she could keep singing after spinning around 10 million times!

I didn't watch the show but did see the "fashion police" show afterwards, there were some really nicely dressed people. Then there were people like Britney Spears what was she thinking? Bad is an understatement for Lady Gaga though. I don't think it gets worst than that. She isn't afraid to try new things and I like that about her though. All in all it was just like every other award show some bad some good and as always a great show.

It's a good thing Lady Gaga is talented. She clearly needs to fire her fashion consultant. But hey, who am I to judge? If it works for her then great. Her concerts sell out fast and people love her and im sure part of that is because she is so different. You go girl. I thought the Michael Jackson tribute was touching. I sort of expected it to be that way and Im glad it was. I do have to admit that as I've gotten older (Im only 33 now) I tend to watch these shows less and less. However, my sisters call me when something exciting comes on so thats how I was able to see Lady Gaga and the tribute to Michael Jackson. When I did watch the grammys religiously every year (pre-children) I really only watched it for the fashion!! :)

Ha! That's funny. Can you seriously imagine sitting beside her with that giant thing on her head? I could not keep myself from laughing...or maybe poking it..

Loved LOVED the outfit that Lady Gaga wore... but wasn't loving her hair colour. That dress could have rocked *so* much more than it did!

I agree with you. I loved the Michael Jackson tribute, it was definitely my favorite part! I love Taylor Swift, but she was off. I think she was a little starstuck. :)

I totally agree that Taylor Swift's performance was not that great but I still love her! I thought Lady GaGa was great as usual and all her dresses were fun.

Wow. I think I'm the only person on here that wasn't a big fan of Lady Gaga's outfit. They always seem a little over-the-top to me, but regardless of her fashion, I love her songs!

I do agree with Lady Gaga being a bit overboard with that haircut of hers. She is truly an authentic, eccentric, eclectic musician. Some of her outfits I love and some make me go hmmm.....

I love watching the awards shows to see the stars gowns, jewels, and makeup. I didn't get to see much of the Grammy's except Lady Gaga performing Poker Face. I am always amazed at her performance. She reminds me of how Madonna used to be, always changing her image.

This year Grammy show was great I was especially impressed with the opening with Lady Gaga's performance and Pink's "Glitter in the Air" performance was truly magical. I also liked Green Day's "21 Guns" performance, but other than that I thought it was a bit boring and dragged out. Michael Jackson's tribute was nice but nothing too spectacular, I think they could have given the King of Pop a better tribute. Overall, I thought it was overly promoted, you couldn't do anything without hearing about the Grammy's.

So, I would have to agree with the majority of the people on here on Lady Gaga's outfits. I really don't like the way she dresses. I appreciate her willingness to be edgy, but their is a fine line between avant-garde and tacky/psycho and I think she crosses that line. I noticed that most of the outfits were very form-fitting this year. I am not used to watching the Grammy's, I am more of an Oscar girl, so I am used to flowy garments at award shows. I really enjoyed the edgier music scene that was prevalent throughout the Red Carpet. Also, I loved the Black Eyed Peas! I always think that their group looks so together, but this year they really stepped it up and it looked fun and very chic!

We can always depend on Lady Gaga for her outrageous ensembles, but for the most part I thought everyone looked fabulous! Taylor Swift's performance may have been off but her dress was stunning.

Awesome night overall. I agree with the Lady Gaga comment, but if I had to sit behind her I would not be happy. And hey, Taylor Swift may not have had the best night last night but I still think she rocks. Loved her dress and makeup!

I missed it because I was working, but I've seen some clips. I thought Taylor Swift was awful, and won only because of sympathy votes (re: Kanye West). I think Pink was and is spectacular, and I think Lady GaGa is a TRUE performer!

The show went on way too long, but my only negative comment was about Beyonce doing a crotch grab shortly into her performance on stage. What's up with that?

I really HATED Britney Spears look. I guess it was too much. But I LOVED Lea Michelle's one shoulder dress; The feathered hemline was incredible! And I loved Pink and Miley Cirus's look I didn't like Katy Perry's dress, Heidi Klum's dress or Beyoncé's dress. They are fashion icons and I was expecting more.
