NYFW Fall 2010 Fashion Trends

Friday, February 26, 2010

New York City fashion week (NYFW) has ended (boo I know) but I thought I would share the recap of the trends for your Fall shopping list. For Clothes: -opt for velvet and silky textures in shades of cream, camel, green, plum, oxblood, grey and black -graffiti prints and pathwork are the dsigns to incorporate along with buckles, sequins, lace, straps and slashed detailing. -high waisted belts are back (yay, love these, they really make you look slimmer) -jumpsuits, ponchos, cropped tops, faux fur collared jackets, high-waisted shorts, short pleated skirts, thigh highs, turtlenecks and big pants For Makeup: -keep makeup looking natural, fresh and dewy for fall. If you decide to go with the classic smoky eye choose shades in dark green, eggplant and blue and keep the lips nudes.
-structured brows were a hit with finishing off the looks on the runway
-deep rich lips in shades of burgundy and plum along with punchy orange lips with bronzed skin was also a favorite among designers
-jeweled tone metallic lined eyes were also popular with shades in blues, greens and gold.

I love natural makeup! I've never tried an eggplant eye, but I think it might look really nice! Those are good ideas! I'm looking for a nice leather jacket for fall :)

My must have fall items: Makeup-purple/plummy eye shadow, Clothes-high waist belt, Accessory-gaudy necklace (short) flashy necklace (long), simple earrings Shoes-UGG boots, the slouch ones with the 3 buttons. my fall was a happy, fashionable one with fun colors, Hip style but I made it my own as usual.

i love creating smoky eyes with hues of green and eggplant! i think it compliments a lot of skin tones better than the blacks and grays. and structured brows are always a must! i'm totally excited for the upcoming fall trends! :-) p.s. the e.l.f. shadow brush is perfect for creating a sexy smoky eye!

For fall I'm loving that their bringing back the high waisted belts due to me having a an obsession over them but I've never been one fot turtle necks, ponchos or big pants. As for makeup I tend to keep it to a minimum; simple and fresh and darker/bolder for night-time. This just makes me so excited for this soming fall!

I love the basics such as black, brown, red, grey (light and dark) but I also like to have brighter colours like green, orange, yellow, some purples to mix and match with the darker colours. Fall doesn't always have to be dark colours only, I've found. I can wear various colours all year round I figured out. Bright colours cheer me up and don't dull my complexion. Some wines are wonderful on my light to medium skin and dark hair. And there are colours like off-white which is never good my for complexion; I just look sick.

There is nothing in the world that makes you look better than some ruching around the waist and when it is on the diagonal it is even more flattering. The black dress does this and is easily translated into other styles. One thing I love about today's fashion is that you can rock any length of skirt you want to; from super short to the rebirth of the maxi. Not only can you wear any length you want to, you can change it up every day. I also think the patchwork trend is great- you can patch all those holes from last year with this year's velvet, paisley, and textures tying it into the "boyfriend" look. This will be a great season to freshen up your last season look with some great new pieces!

Wow! Hardly into spring but already talking about Fall! I'm loving the smokey colored eyes right now... especially eggplants and plums for this brown-eyed girl ;) This past Winter, I loved lining my eyes with silver/white metallics, but will definitely try gold and other gem colors in Autumn. For fashion, I'm so glad that high-wasted belts are still the rage =) I'm also a huge lover of accessories... totally going to rock more cuff bracelets and ornate necklaces! My must have for Fall is always a new pair (or two!) of boots, be it ankle or knee-high, flat or heeled. My recent faves are tan, suede wedges... this year, I think I want gray, leather, flat boots!

Rather than go and and buy a new wardrobe for the season I incorporate a few new items. I have bought some plum, green and grey tights all of which will be worn with existing skirts. I purchased a $300 coat for $19 (courtesy to NY fashion week!) which I'm looking forward to wearing next Fall. Hope E.l.f is going to come out with some self-tanning products so we can achieve that bronzed look by Fall!!

I am just saying in my opinion that many things aren't flattering on the majority. (i.e. velvet and silky - I mean the models don't have normal bodies...but more power to them.)

I'm only 5'0" but I found a black jumpsuit paired with a high-waisted belt made my 'bottom' half look longer, of course, pairded with heels (I would stay away from chunky heels/wedges if you're 'short' like me). I pair mine with a pair of plain stiletto, giving the appearance of being taller. :)

I am fairly new to ELF, but love it's opportunities and have enjoyed beauty secrets as well as it's products. I look forward to the future fashion trends! They seem to be on the cutting edge! Thank you!

I love to see what comes down the runway's every year! And I always love to see how that translates into street wear. Can't wait to check out the jeans.

Definitely loving the news about the natural, fresh makeup look! It's the best way to go in my opinion. Nice & clean. Oh, and high waisted belts, buckles, lace, straps? I'm in heaven!

I am really loving the thick winged-eye look. I usually do it with my e.l.f. cream liner, it's perfect! I also like to pair it with a brighter lip color. I like the rest of my makeup minimal, semi-dewy foundation, and matte flush-toned blush.

I have not heard of YMI, but they look cute. It's very difficult for me to find jeans that fit right. I'm relatively small hipped & most are too baggy. I'd love to try them as I'm always on the look out for great jeans.

I bought a pair of dark wash jeans about two years ago that I LOVE. But they are about the only pair that fit right, so now they are not so dark anymore. Sure hope I win a pair of these, but even if i don't, I'm going to go search them out. Can't beat $38/pair if they fit right!

Love love love the neutral tones. After a year of bright colors, I welcome the khaki / camel / taupe / cream clothing combos. I'm glad that deep jewel tones are staying - purple and dark blue looks good on everyone. Not crazy about the high belts - if not worn correctly, one can look unproportioned or risk muffin-top. Glad to see skinny jeans / leggings with the high boots on the runway - it's a great trend that I hope sticks around for a long time!

I am new to e.l.f., but so far have really enjoyed the makeup and accessories. It has actually helped with my relationship with my daughter because she now thinks that I am cool and I must know a thing or two about applying makeup since it looks so good when I put it on the mornings. Hope to impress her with some new jeans too! :-)

Wow I cant believe that YMI is giving away jeans. I went shopping at Platos because I cant afford the price of some of these stylish jeans, I always have to search for used jeans and I came across a pair that said YMI and I thought hmmmm different name what does this stand for? Not knowing who is this company I passed these jeans by , now I can kick my butt for not getting them, but if YMI is giving away jeans how ironic that I just laid my eyes on such a pair. This could be the one jean that I can finaly afford if I can only get my hands again on another pair. Let me show your jeans off YMI and let the ladies know you dont have to buy used stylish jeans when you can afford a brand new one from YMI... lets go !!
