Where Will You Go for Your Next New Nail Polish ?

Monday, March 15, 2010

Nail polish has become the newest outlet for today’s modern woman to express her passions and sense of style. Some go for a more subtle look, while others see their nails as an empty canvas. The trends for the spring of 2010 are more varied than ever, they consist of both mattes and crème shades from all color of the rainbow.  This season will certainly give all women a chance to flaunt their new shades and convey who they are. That being said, let’s all make appointments with our favorite salon or pick our favorite comfy chair and get these nails back into shape.

Now the real task is at hand, where will you be heading for your next spring shade? Plan to go and purchase a polish from your local salon, or hunt down the most unique color you could ever find at the beauty supply store near you? Give us the details.

I have started o buy a lot of different glitter nail polish and mix it with my other nail polish shades. It gives a different tone no matter what the color may be. I have mixed a deep purple shade with bright blue glitter and always receive compliments. I tend to be daring with the colors I choose, but I LOVE color.

I've been heading over to Ardene's or Icing to buy my nailpolishes. Last year at Icing, I bought a blue-green bright nailpolish and wore it on my toes. I love the colour; its vibrant and happy. From Ardene's, I bought a peachy frost colour. I like to wear this in the winter especially around holidays. It's also a very subtle and versatile colour that can be worn all year around.

I love to try finding a unique color at a store near me. They normally have a great variety including calm, neutral colors as well as the spunky, fun ones.

I've never heard of those first two fiber foods.

E.l.f. has some really nice shades of nail polish, but I wish they would improve the brush. It's too wide and chunky, painting your nails becomes a mess. Until E.l.f. fixes that I'll be using Wet 'n Wild and OPI.

I went to a CVS and picked up Rimmel London's "Steel Grey" for spring. It's a beautiful taupe color for the season. I've never used this brands polish before. It's been 7 days since my DIY mani. and it's yet to chip. The formula is amazing and the brush is amazing. The brush is flat and with a rounded tip so I get a perfect stroke every time. The other color I got was with my recent E.L.F. purchase, I got the "Nude" and again, it's my first polish from E.L.F. and I'm looking forward to switching my colors up this spring.

I'm looking for a pale lavendary pink and a pale mint green. So spring-y and easter-y! I can't find inexpensive drugstore ones just yet though...ELF should come out with some! (hint hint)

As I do every season, I'll buy nailpolish at everystore I go into. By the end of the season I'll have 50 or more polishes, some duplicate colors even. Of course, I'll only wear one color all season! I'm adddicted to buying and trying new shades but always end up wearing a conservative, plain color. Maybe it's my age, or maybe it's my job, but as much as I love the idea of bright, funky colors, i just can't seem to wear it!
