KFC Double Down

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Having healthy beautiful skin relates to a healthy diet, right? So,  I’m sure you have been in the know of the new KFC Double Down Sandwhich featuring two chicken filets, two pieces of bacon, two pieces of monterey jack and pepper jack cheese and the Colonel’s Sauce.  At a whopping 540 calories, 32 grams of fat and 1380 mg of Sodium I have to wonder…what would this do for my beauty health and wellness?  What do you think, is this a “pass” or “pass it to me” item?

it looks SO good... but if you were to try it.. maybe split it with someone?? All those calories, fat and sodium can't be good for someone. But it's worth a try :P

This is definitely a PASS!!! I'm a little disappointed in KFC, with many other fast food chains adding healthier menu items recently, couldn't they have at least put some lettuce on that sandwich???

I heard about this on the radio, and while it may sound tempting when I'm PMSing but I could feel my arteries clogging when they were describing what the Double Down was. It is just saturated fact and sodium...You can just feel getting a heart attack after finishing this...I'll definitely pass

definitely pass! there is NOTHING natural about this sandwich. any positive feeling you would get from eating this will not outweigh the negative toll eating things like this will take on your body.. do yourself a favor and say no to this!

Oh Eww! This sandwich "thing" looks totally disgusting and artery clogging to me! Yuk! I would never even think of eating this! How is KFC going to go from their "Grilled Chicken" to this??? I guess I just don't understand their marketing, um reasoning on this right? LOL

this is terrible, there is nothing nutritious about this "sandwich" and does not promote a healthy lifestyle. In my opinion, it doesnt even look like real food. With an alarming rate of obesity in this country, this is the last thing we need.

This is definitely a PASS please! Why waste money and calories on this artery clogger when I could eat a hearty salad and drink water and use the leftover money to buy e.l.f. cosmetics!!! Seriously! No thank you KFC.

It sounds like a fake product that a show like the Simpsons or Family Guy would make up, to make fun of how unhealthy the average American is...but it's real. :(

I keep seeing commercials and ads for this.. I wonder if it really is good. I can honestly say that it does look yummy! This is an indulgence lol, but I would try it at least once. Pass it to me once, then pass it along!

I would say pass, It just doesn't look that good, nor does it sound that tasty. They could have at least added some veg just to give the illusion of a little healthy.

definitely pass :P Looking good comes from within & is directly proportional to feeling good. I were to eat this, I know that for the next two-three days I would feel guilty as hell and far from good! However, that's just me and my metabolism doesn't allow for such luxuries -- if any girl can eat and then burn of this truck loads of fat...I would say 'go for it'!!

Most emphatically a pass! Arteries will clog, cholesterol will increase and the waistline will expand. All that grease will affect your skin. I'm sure it tastes good, however, if I have to live dangerously, I'm having a slice of White chocolate macademia nut cream pie!!

No pass!!!! I have combo skin but in the summer time it seems more oily. The smallest peice of fried food causes pimples for me. I actually tried a peice of one of these (my brothers love them) and now my skin is paying the price for it.

Well, it depends. If you would normally reach for a Big Mac instead, this is a much healthier choice at half the calories without all the weird preservatives (and it's a lot more filling as well). It's also Atkins compliant. Personally I tried it and was only able to get a few bites down before it made me sick because I have a sensitive stomach.

mmm. it looks good but it's sort of strange to substitute bread with fried chicken patties. be prepared to workout A LOT if you're gonna eat that.

It looks really really good! Although it is something you don't eat often. It's probably one of those I-will-eat-anything-and-I-don't-care-about-calories day. Sadly though, KFC in Canada will not be serving this.

This is absolutely unhealthy! I must admit that it caught my attention at one point, but when I took the time to see what it is composed of, I decided I would pass.

ICK ICK ICK! What is wrong with these people?! They need to watch the "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution" show running on TV the past few weeks about how our children are so over weight from what they are being fed that they are being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at 12 years of age. And they don't know what a tomato is (they called it a potato if they had any idea at all) but could all shout out the name of "french fry" and "big mac". Disgusting.

For those of us living the low carb lifestyle, the GRILLED double down is a welcome addition. There are very few drive through, or even sit down, restaurants that offer low carb choices. It all seemed to fade into the woodwork when the low carb craze died down. I'm glad someone has added something low carb to their menu and I will definitely be sampling this one.
