Walk a Mile in My Shoes

Monday, April 19, 2010

Living in New York has its benefits, like the convenience of being able to walk almost anywhere in Manhattan.  But the downside is the blisters and pain of high heels and shin splints from flats.  I was distressed by this until I walked into my local Duane Reade to discover Dr Scholls Hidden Arch Supports, hello comfort!!  These gel inserts are amazing, they making walking in my heels and flats so comfortable that I wonder how I ever lived without them.  The greatest part is that they stay in place but remove easily so you can swap them to any pair of shoes.  So go strut your stuff ladies, and walk those streets like it’s the catwalk!

Really cool, I saw an ad in the Instyle Magazine with Scarlett Johansson on the cover and they have a sample and it feels really nice. I need to invest because I love heels I have so many.

These are great. Their other product that's a life (and shoe!) saver is their gel insert for the ball of your foot. I've found lack of support or cushion in these two areas is usually what makes or breaks comfort in a shoe. Great find!

I just went out and bought these after reading this article, I love heals but not the blisters and scrapes I get from them....

If these will help with getting shin splints all the time, I'm all for getting these! The front of my feet are extra wide so there might be no helping the blisters that form there when I wear heels, but at least the rest of my feet can be saved! Although, if anyone knows how to prevent the blisters I get for having wide feet, please share that knowledge with me too. :)

As soon as I read this I ran off to my local drug store and got these excellent gel inserts. Needless to say I fell in love with them at once! Dr. Scholls makes great products and you have great reviews! Keep them coming =]

I tend to use inserts a lot because I have a narrow feet and they are usually sliding forward in my shoes. But I have never tried the Arch Support. I love the fact that you can remove them and swap to other shoes. Will definitely give it a try because I have to walk a lot in my job. Thanks!

I so agree with you! We went on a family trip to Chicago. We parked the car at the hotel and walked everywhere the whole week to save on gas and parking. Before we left my husband recommended that I follow his advice and "Gel" with him before we left. Thank God I listened and Thank God for Dr Scholls gel inserts! My legs got tired (of course, I was trying to keep up with my three young daughters), but my back and feet didn't hurt like they normally would have. It turned out to be a great trip, my legs got some added toning from all the walking, and my feet didn't hurt! Perfect vacation! Thanks again Dr. Scholls!

I think this is great! I have had hard times with my flats and heels. I LOVE my heels and will not give them up for the world, so to hear about this will definitely help my feet in the long run! <3

Dr Scholls has come such a long way since the days when I was a teenager and we were all wearing those clunky wooden sandals that gave me calf muscles of steel! Ive used their other inserts, the gel type for being on your feet long periods and they help a lot, but I hadnt realized they also have arch supports. A gel type sounds like it would be immensely comfortable, unlike the type of arch supports you expect to find in corrective shoes. thank you for the post, Im not walking around NY but keeping up with twin teens over school vacation might just have gotten more bearable!

Wow, those would be amazing! I have super flat feet and my feet almost always hurt whether I'm wearing sneakers or heels. That's a great idea!

I have been meaning to get those for so long but never get the chance. I am going to write this on my TO BUY list and get them because summer is here and I love wearing sandals in the summer. Like you said however, they can be hard on your feet. I have really boney feet lol, so my feet are very very prone to blisters!

I've been using gel inserts for a few years and love them! However, if you are on your feet alot or running around Manhattan a better solution is to find a cute pair of shoes that also offer support. I have bought a few pairs of shoes from Dr. Scholls, they are really cute and not the horrible clogs of the '80s.

I'll have to try these. As it is, I can't wear heels much higher than 2 inches. To be able to walk in stilettos for more than 20 feet would be great!

I love love LOVE heels. The higher the better! The problem is I also have an unusually high arch, making walking in those shoes for any long period extremely uncomfortable! I've used the old arch supports for my sneakers and flats but these will be fantastic for shoes that show those old supports. Thanks for turning me on to a great new product!!

I love high heels and and these Dr Schcolls hidden arch are great. I believe that you always need to walk out of your house feeling great as well as be comfortable. So women if you have tryied these let me tell you that even those shoes in your closet that you love but kill your feet will no longer be collecting dust but they will now have worn out soles bc you will never take them off..

I'm so happy that I can add something to this discussion. Usually I'm lurking just slurping up all the good tips...Last Mar. I fractured my back (not fun) and went to see a Chiropractor (something I NEVER thought I would do. She recommeded these, but I never got around to buying them until I saw your comments.
