Under Eye Circles

Friday, April 23, 2010

Everyone hates the dreaded under eye circle.  So here are a few healthy and natural ways to help combat under eye circles that you can find around your house! -drink plenty of water -get plenty of sleep -eat foods rich in vitamin e, c and iron like skinless chicken and bell peppers -create a mixture of crushed almonds and milk to create a paste and apply under the eyes every morning for 10 minutes or you can try crushed mint leaves and leave under the eyes for 20 minutes -Try creating a paste of turmeric powder and pineapple juice and apply under the eyes -And of course apply a nourishing concealer in a shade lighter than your skin to balance out the darkness, try e.l.f. Studio Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter.  This is a great item because it has green tea to help tighten and sooth the under eye area.
What do you do to get rid of under eye circles?

I've used cucumber slices as well as tea bags. They seem to help but e.l.f. concealer gives an instant improvement!

When I do not have a proper night sleep, i always wake up with dark circles under my eyes. Right after I get up, I splash my face with cold water for a couple of minutes. This really helps to reduce the swelling of my eyes. Works the same way as applying ice or cucumber slices on them. Concealer is a must. If there is not enough time, I would apply it on the go. =)

Thanks so much for posting tips for how to get rid of dark undereyes. I unfortunately have them all the time, and have become very self-conscious about it because I haven't been able to get rid of them. I mainly have tried using concealer to cover it up but it always seems to leave a grayish hue. I'm definitely going to give these home remedies a try...hopefully they will work! :)

To get rid of under eye circles I drink lots and lots of water an I also love to give my skin (including under the eyes) a break by simply washing my face and not wearing makeup. Thanks for the tips!

My under eye circles are pretty, but when i dont sleep i know theyll be worst. Since i know that when i go to sleep i use a cool eye mask those of which you put on the refrigerator and i sleep with it. It helps bring down my puffiness. In the morning i wash my face with cold water. Then ELF concealer is great. I put the highlight on the bottom and the concealer on top. After i take the high liter again and put it on the inner conner of my eyes! Work amazing!!

Just a heads-up concerning Tumeric: it has a yellow stain, so ensure that you allow time for this to go away between wearing the mask they've suggested and going out! I have heard from many, however, that Tumeric will also help with dry skin if taken internally. Otherwise, I am a huge fan of the Studio Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter, but it surprises me that e.l.f. chose to focus on the green tea ingredient rather than the other wonderful, more researched, antioxidants in its formulation: Vitamins A (Retinol/Retinoic Acid) and E (Tocopherol/Tocopheryl Acetate).

I use a cold spoon from the fridge to get rid of the puffiness and then use a yellow based concealer under my foundation.

Every once in a while I steam my face. Most people use this method to help rid of colds or help with those nasty ZITS that keep popping up!! I sometimes like to steam just to lift my spirits; its like for me going outside for a walk to get a bit of fresh air. Steaming does that for my skin. It helps with not looking tired on certain days. I also have this concealer and recommend it. First, I use the concealer part on the bag area of the eye, let dry then apply the highlighter to the cheekbones. This helps the undereye area look brighter and rested.

One of my strategies for getting rid of undereye circles is to put a metal spoon in the fridge and holding it over my eye or putting a teabag on my eye!

I usually have 25 dollars full of groceries under my eyes! (BAGS(circles)- lol). What I have been using is something my mother told me to use forever ago and I to this day still use. I apply the warm tea bags under my eyes cause it helps fade my circles. ROSE WATER!!! Put acouple of drops on a cotton ball and let soak on circles for aobut 10 minutes a day!!! Then follow with ur face cream and ur under eye concealer and your good to start ur day!!!
