Miley Cyrus "Can't Be Tamed"

Friday, May 14, 2010

Ok so I am totally a Miley Cyrus fan, her songs are just so catchy! I have to admit though I was a little shocked to see little Hannah Montana morph into a Brittney Spears/Lada Gaga styled music video. Her new “Can’t Be Tamed” video has a dark seductive edge that screams, I’m an adult artist now! I totally am green with envy for the green eyeshadow she was wearing in the video, here’s some e.l.f. green items so you too can get the look: Earthy Mineral Eyeshadow, Mystic Moss Studio EyeshadowStudio Green Moss Eyeliner & Shadow Stick, Ivy Brightening Eye Color and Green Machine Liquid Eyeshadow. What do you think of this video, risqué or just right?

honestly...I'm kinda disappointed in her new video. I know she's growing up and everything, but I think there's a way to grow up without heading the Brittney Spears/Lady Gaga path, at least wardrobe wise. I liked her eyeshadow, though...and the song was catchy.

Wow this is so cool! It's so different and cool! Her wings are so great and the styling is perfect to match.

I feel like almost all Disney stars eventually go down this path... sad. I mean... Justin Timberlake & Britney were Mousekateers, and then Hilary Duff & now Miley, along with MANY others. I do love the eyeshadow, I've been on a green kick lately anyway!

It's always a little weird to see girls acting like women in this manner. I find it very disconcerting. I can understand that she wants to branch out and try new things, but she may end up losing her audience.

I don't hate Miley Cyrus, in fact I find her songs quite catchy sometimes, but I was definitely kind of disappointed in this music video. It wasn't just that it was so risque (I could deal with the whole dancing in birdcages and everything, but what was up with the slow motion sexual dancing in the middle of the video and the tossing and turning on the ground in the peacock suit). I think the worst part was that this video did not seem like Miley at all. It was just a mashup of Brittney and Gaga (anyone notice the similar robotic dancing as Gaga). At least "Party in the USA" had a southern-country-ish feel to it, which is what I thought she wanted.

i think people judge miley too much by her past and they should stop shes growing up now and she can do freaky things if she wants too lol .

I do like this song, but I find it a bit off that so many artists are trying to do something so Gaga-esque. Christina Aguilera did something similar as well. The beginning reminded me of the beginning of the Phantom of the Opera with the auction :) haha

I really like this video and I love the song! Miley is growing up and branching out of disney which is probably good for her career but not so great for her young fans.

Wow, Miley is growing up! The video's not bad at all. I would have liked more choreography though. It would have made the video more interesting.

I think her video is risqué because little girls are looking up to her, she has millions of fans and honestly, I don't think she is setting a good example.

I was pretty shocked by the video as well. I think she still had a few years before she needed to be seen as an "adult artist"! At least the makeup was fierce!

For me this is pretty disapointing. Miley has so many extremely young fans who look up to her as a rollmodel. I've seen kids under 10 with really hort skirts and skimpy tank tops saying their doin the "mily look" today! I know she is getting older and growing out of the Disney stage, but that is one of the responsibilities of a celeb to know your audience. I agree that it's good for her to get out of that lalalala stage but gradually I think I best for every. First she's Hana then Miley and now Skanky? I dunno that's just my opinion

She has totally lost it. She is so excited to get into the adult world but she only 17! What about all her little five year old fans? What are they gonna think if they accentally see this? Well goodbye Disney girl hello adult. I was shocked when I saw this Brittney/Lady Gaga. Wow.....

I honestly thought that she was way to risque. I couldn't believe that her parents would allow her to dress that way in a video after them talking about how they don't condone that sort of dress/behaviour from young celebrities. It kinda baffles me. Yes she is getting older but I think she is starting to dress way to provocative for her age. It made me uncomfortable to watch it even though the tune can be catchy.

Wow. I think that it was a little inappropriate, seeing that the "lap dance" video just came out. She has probably lost the respect of several parents.

I loved the video. In my opinion she is getting older, and there isn't anything to bad in the video. She cant act like shes 15 for the rest of her life.

All of them have moves from Micheal Jackson ( look at Thriller, etc. and then their videos. ). But , I must say that I LOVE the video. It shows her in a more adult fashion. If e.l.f. would dhow how and which makeup to use, I would definitely buy !

I think she has it a bit tough because she has to shed her sweet-girl persona and a lot of people can't let go of that image. But I think she's also trying to hard to be older than she is. The video's a bit on the risque side, but I know that she's just trying to grow up.

I think Miley wants to move into the more hip, adult scene, but she is doing it way too fast. She has to remember that she cannot just forget about her younger fans, they are not just going to forget about her. She needs to make the jump more smoothly, and with less provacative movements. I think her eyes were cool, but made her look too old.
