12 inch heels?

Monday, September 13, 2010

Ok ladies, we all love how high heels elongate our legs for a sexy slim look…but how about 12 inch heels?  Romanian shoe designer Mihai Albu does just that, known as the “shoe architect” Mihai constructs works of art, he says “I am creating a constructed chaos”.  With a pair of shoes selling upwards of $1,525 it’s a “high” price to pay for fashion.   What do you think, how high is too high for heels?

I can't imagine ever walking in 12 inches. I tried on 6 inch stilettos once, and that was enough of a challenge for me. (No way the ones pictured are even close to 12 inches!)

I think that's going a bit too far. I admit I do love a sexy heel and I love the look of my calves when I'm strutting down the street lol but, to me, this is just another torture device that we women will buy into. There will be absolutely no comfort in a shoe that high. High priced for pain basically.

Beyond 6.5 inches is way too high. AND over $1500 for them. Come on... No shoe is worth that.

I have to say i think these are the ugliest shoes i've ever seen. I sat and stared at the picture, trying to figure out how each of them was 12" until i realized this 'stack of shoes' WAS the 12" shoe. horrible.

ok now i love heel/wedges. love how i look and how i walk but come on now 12 inch heels, who can walk in those. i think the late alexander mcqueen uses extremeely high heels in his fashion shows and even the most seasoned models were scared to death of them. i can only imagine the magnitude of back and feet pains if someone were to wear those daily not to mention the stares of "are you insane lol". if someone is brave enough to wear these then hey more power to you but i'll stick to my 4-5" heels/wedges :)

a 12" heel???!!! WHAT?! Does it come with some sort of insurance?? I would definitely be in the hospital with a broken ankle!! Of course, all women LOVE heels and to some this may be nothing to walk in. However, unless a run way model, working women I do not see being able to "swing" this 12" heel! I would however buy a pair... just to be a female and say that I have them!! ;)

Ok - So i understand having - at most - a 6 inche heel to add height, but a shoe that is 3 shoes glued on top of eachother? Not sure I am a fan of this style shoe. To me, it doesn't seem like it took that much creativity, especially to pay over $1,500 for them...

12 inch heels are INSANE for sure.. but i think 4-5 inches heels are the MAX for a woman to walk in. I'm 5ft 3in and i get so tired after a day of wearing 4 inch heels, how in the world can someone wear 12 inch heels and their legs don't feel like falling off. lol

That's like going back in time to fashion that disables a woman so that all she can do while wearing them is sit down. How do you dance or walk in them, or step out of a taxi in them? How sexy is it really when your date needs to be your spotter because your ridiculous shoes might cause you to fall?

OMJ.... That sounds AMAZING. the whole 12 inch high heels is just awesome! that's a total classic there... I'd buy one... considering MY OWN HEIGHT, that'll add a whole entire foot to me that I never had!!! OMG... that would be sooooo awesome. However... I wouldn't pay that price though... eh, lets say it was a good... 150.00... i'd deficantely get one... but in the K's... no, I'll pass. I wonder if it's a wedge, a pump, or and actual HIGH HEEL? either way... still sounds cool! LIIS

I absolutely LOVE wearing heels. I am definitely the type of girl to sacrifice comfort for style. The 12 inch heels look pretty comfortable because the arch and angle of the foot is just like any other heel. It is the thick platforms giving the height. But I don't know if it's worth $1,525 because honestly, I don't find this pair very attractive. I think 5 inches is the highest I will go.

This shoe is comical, who in there right mind would pay money to try and balance on 12 inches. I am short and I love heels but this is just to much....Did I mention how ugly this shoe is it would clash with your outfit seeing that it is 3 different shoes....SMH

Heels are too high when even if wearer successfully gets into upright position once they are on but instantaneously loses all sense of equilibrium (which I guess is not THAT uncommon) and unable to fahionably recover in nanoseconds thereby causing as unspeakable painful moment in everry sende but also an emergency session with her analyst for severe damage to her fashion and common sense.

Seeing the pics, at most, I'd pay $39.95. The heels are cute, but it's made of wood or plastic and there's no cushion (i.e. no comfort). Besides, I work smart for my money so I also try to be frugal and not give it away. I'd love to see the profit margin on these! They're probably in cuadruple digits!

I love my heels but not for that much and not that tall! 8 inches is the max for me. I can just hear all the news reports about how someone tried walking in 12 inch heels and broke their neck or broke their ankle. Think of all the health risks you'd have just by walking down the street in them.

I think these shoes are more a work of art to be admired than an actual shoe that anyone would wear (or pay that price for). I'm all for creativity, but some creative things are not practical in everyday life. A 12" platform heal reminds me of the boots that the rock band KISS wears -- great for a performance, but not for everyday real life. Personally, I used to be able to wear 4 inch spike heals with no problem; I had a stroke 4 years ago that affected my balance, and now I can only safely wear a max heal of 2 1/2 inches, and the heal needs to be wide. And I rarely pay more than $70-80 for a pair of shoes/boots.

Anything more than 3" is overkill. Three inch heels are high enough to achieve the long-leg look but not so high that one risks a fall - or damaged joints. It's simply not worth it. You only get one pair of feet...use some common sense and take care of them. They have to last a lifetime. I will be SO glad when the ridiculous platform fad fades again. How can any woman convince herself she looks attractive/sexy/elegant while wearing those clunkers??

The highest I would go for a pair of heels is probably $40 or $50. I understand quality, but over $1,000 for a pair of heels is ridiculous. I don't care how cute they are or how long they will last you. I don't consider that an "investment" it's a waste. I know heels will never go out of style, but the sky-scraping heights that is trending right now will.

Why not just wear stilts? Cheaper and you're just as likely to break a limb with them as you are shoes that raise you a foot off the ground...though that is a somewhat appropriate unit of measurement,..
