Celebrity Faces

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

It seems like a lot of celebrities have been lending their famous “mugs” to major brands. Check out the latest celebrity endorsed brands which ads you’ll be seeing soon.

-Amanda Seyfried is the New face of Cle de Peau

-Natalie Portman is new face for Dior

-Rachel Weisz  and Gwen Stefani are the new faces for L’Oreal Paris

Are you more likely to buy a product if a celebrity has been paid to endorse it?

Although I enjoy seeing certain celebs in their gorgeous layouts looking FIERCE for some of the bigger makeup companies, it's not a contributing factor to what I purchase! Having been a pro makeup artist myself, I'm a bit more educated about cosmetics to know that a fancy campaign and big price tag do not make an effective product!!

I would only but it if I knew it was a good product. It doesn't matter who's face is on it if the product is crappy

I would definitely pay more attention to the product advertisement especially if I like that specific celebrities. Like the case of cle de peau, I feel like it's much younger now with Amanda is its ambassador. Before, I feel like the brand is more for older women.

I rarely buy a product because someone famous is on it. I really son't like many of the leading ladies in Hollywood these days

I actually feel it has the opposite effect on me I don't buy it because of the celebrity I do my own research first!

I would not buy a product just because a celebrity's face is on an Ad. To me, most ads are over priced cosmetics (excusing L'oreal and Covergirl). And because these companies have these ads out they have to charge more for their makeup to keep up with the costs of advertisement.

It honestly doesn't affect my decision on buying or trying out the product. I usually base my decision on a products reputation, from friends or family who've tried it in the past, for example Covergirls Lash Blast. Their spokesperson is Drew Barrymore and I don't care for her at all, I don't even like her movies, but guess what the mascara really works for me and I from what I hear a lot of other women too. So celebrities don't matter!

Just because a celebrity's face is on a product its going to make me run to my nearest beauty store and purchase it. I always think to myself those people are paid to have their picture featured on those items it doesn't mean they necessarily love them or anything.

I think that celebrity endorsers are so overrated and while I might buy makeup from those brands, a celeb won't inspire me to buy a product.

No. A famous face might make me look at it to emulate them some other way, however I dont just buy a product because the face of the moment is wearing it.

Not at all, I buy a product if I myself like it. I like looking at the ads though!

I don't know why the big beauty brands do this. Seeing a big name on a product or commercial has never made me want to purchase an item solely on that basis. I buy products that I like and know actually work.

Keywords "if a celibrity has been PAID to endorse it" for that reason alone I do NOT go out and buy any product that's endorsed by any celebrity. I base my decision on what I've tried or from trusted friends and family.

Doesn't really matter to me. Yeah, it grabs your attention on commercials, but if you think about it, then maybe the actual product isn't as good because they NEED a celeb to endorce it.

I would probably buy something that is endorsed by a celebrity if it is reasonable in cost. I am not going to buy the most expensive item just because so and so endorses it but if I had a choice between this drug store or cheaper brand and that one I would probably choose the one endorsed.

Not so much anymore. Hasn't been that way for me since a teenager. I look at quality, quantity, if good for my skin and if the price is right, I'm buying it!

Yes because usually if a celeb endorses a product it's good quality. They wouldn't mess up their rep for a horrible product, at least I believe so.

I love seeing celebs endorsing and actually wearing affordable makeup...makes you realize you don't have to spend 50+ on a foundation at a department store to get a good quality product.

it doesnt matter to me at all! i am either interested or not in the product they are selling, i dont see the point in wasting millions to have a celebrity say they like it when we know they are just being paid to say it, it may not even be true!

Achelle- you have chosen or have been chosen to represent the most amazing makeup company that I have ever (literally) stumbled upon in my life! I am a makeup w*&re and just love the e.l.f. products and products even more! Everything that I have used has worked perfectly with my sensitive (older) cystic acne-prone skin with no problems. Looking forward to a lasting relationship.... Sorry Sephora!

I think it is so cool when a celebrity can say what makeup brand and things they love because it just gives us another reason to want to buy makeup.

I probably take a look at something that was less expensive because I would think that the stars could spend any amount of money and they were getting something less expensive, but it probably works.

A celebrity endorsing a makeup line or product does not really influence me in trying that line or item. Most of us average women don't look like those celebrities or we'd be in the commercial. I don't know about you, but I think those commercial shots are set up so that the already beautiful celeb. looks perfect. Us regular, every day people don't, and won't look like that even if we use that makeup line. I think the makeup companies think we will look at that celeb. spokesmodel and think that we are going to look just like her if we buy XYZ brand. Most us are smarter than that.

Having a celebrity does not draw me to a product because I know they are well paid to endorse it. (recent Kardashian fiasco with Credit card company) Besides, they all have professional make up artist that apply their make up for them so who knows if they even know how to use the product. I've just bought a set of make up brushes from ELF & have got to learn what each of them is for & the correct way to use them. I agree with previous poster that endorser & cost has nothing to do with the quality.

Aren't celebrities supposed to have great skin? That means that even though it works on them doesn't mean it'll work on you.
