Goof-Proof Glow

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

To avoid skin that looks discolored, ditch your potentially streaky foundation and even out your skin tone with a tinted primer instead . It’s the goof-proof route to a natural-looking, healthy glow. Plus, it will help your makeup stay put all day long!

For over a decade, Scott-Vincent Borba has been a renowned innovator in the beauty category and has worked on such esteemed brands such as Hard Candy Cosmetics, Johnson & Johnson®, P&G/Wella-Sebastian, Shiseido/Joico, and Dr. Murad.
Scott-Vincent helped found E.L.F. Cosmetics with the idea that quality color cosmetics shouldn’t be limited to high-end department stores.

Scott-Vincent has been a high-fashion model, TV personality and became a licensed aesthetician to further his credentials and experiences. He founded BORBA, and continues to use his creative thinking to push the envelopes of skin care as we know it.

I love my wet n wild primer+foundation intuitive blend. It has a very light pigmentation, but for me, it's amazing and it makes my face feel SO smooth (I have normal little bit oily skin around spring/summer, but in fall/winter it's more dry

This is a great tip, I finally pulled out my elf studio tinted moisturizer and lightly applied a thin layer. I set it with translucent powder. I can't believe how much lighter my face feels compared to other cakey products I've used in the past. Because of this useful tip, I will never go back to pore-clogging foundations. I feel significantly fresher with the tinted moisturizer!

This is a good Idea. I tried the hard candy tinted moisturizer, but the product separated after a month. Oh well, I like more coverage when its cold anyway.

I love tinted primer! I've been trying one from Rimmel that lasts all day and really helps combat looking washed out and weird! I'd love if ELF made one.

Try the elf primer. It's fantastic! It leaves a velvety feel to the skin when applied and a drop can cover your whole face. Use foundation next and you will find that you"ll use less as it spreads so smoothly and evenly over the primer. A light dusting of powder or my favorite the elf boost shimmer powder and wow....a quick process, cost saving by using less product, with a photo ready, celeb style look for pennies compared to high end brands. The elf primer is one of the best products they have by far.

As I understand the current Studio primer is silicone based and is there to smooth out the surface. Is elf also plannig to launch a mattifying primer? I'd be quite interested in that - silicone primers do nothing for me becayse of the living oil refinery that I am. By mid-day my makeup suffers :S.

Having struggled since I started wearing makeup to find a foundation the right color. I'm very pale with pink undertones and I find everything light enough has far too much yellow in it :( Tinted primers are so much easier to deal with.

Question: Does this cover red spots? My face always looks sunburned, even when I haven't been in the sun for weeks. I have to use that green cover up stuff (I don't know what it's called) or else people ask if I'm blushing or burned. I would really like to keep a natural look and still be able to hide my red spots.
