Where to Apply Blush

Thursday, March 31, 2011

Ever wondered where to place your blush without looking like a clown?  Check out this easy guide as your reference!

If your face is round: sweep a blush on the apples of your cheeks in an outward motion towards your ears.  For added definition apply a slightly darker shade below the cheekbones.

If your face is oval: apply blush directly to the largest area of the cheeks.

If your face is heart-shaped/long: keep blush directly on top of the cheekbones and add a little bronzer to the temples for definition

If your face is square: apply blush to the apples, underneath the cheekbones and onto the temples for flushed and even look.

i have a heart-shaped face and i LOVE the contouring palette. I put the blush right above my cheek bones and the bronze right below my cheekbones and it looks amazing :)

I have the Jessica Alba (Oval Face) and yes it's best for me to apply blush to the largest area on my cheeks or else the blush doesn't look right.

I wonder how these guidelines affect the recent trend of applying blush BELOW your apples? I guess in the end you just have to work out what looks best on you by experimenting.

Recently I've been thinking about blush and wanting to try different colors! I have a round face and daily I use a soft pink blush. This post was really helpful to me because I was wondering about the right way to apply it on my round cheeks.

Wow! I've always read the same generic instructions for applying blush and found that they didn't work so well for me, but it totally makes sense that face shape would affect blush application. Thanks!

Wow. That helps a lot. I can never figure out just where to apply blush to make it look natural and nice. I think I can do it now, though. I'll definatley be trying it today.

I have a long face with high cheek bones, so I love following the tip of applying bronzer to the temples. I also contour my face slightly for a more defined look using the glow bronzer from e.l.f. I just love it. I will soon be buying more bronzer.
