Smokey Eyes

Tuesday, November 08, 2011

Smokey eyes are back! And we are sure it will make you feel instantly hot this winter. Start out by priming the eyes to ensure long lasting color. Apply a matte or shimmery black eyeshadow (try our Pigment Eyeshadow in 'Naughty Noire') to the entire lid and across the lower lash line. Line eyes with black eyeliner and coat lashes with 2-3 coats of black Volumizing Mascara. To avoid looking like a 'racoon' add a bit of shimmery white eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eyes, this will brighten up the look. Apply our Mineral Face Primer and Flawless Finish Foundation. Don't forget concealer! Conceal under eye circles with our Complete Coverage Concealer to brighten up the center of the face and prevent the smokey eye from looking to ghastly. Next, contour the edges of the face with bronzer and apply a peach toned blush (try our Studio Blush in 'Peachy Keen') to the apples of the cheeks. Finish off the look with a tinted lip balm (try our Mineral Moisturizing Lip Tint in 'Pink') or a clear gloss and your good to go!

Smokey eyes are cool but I can never pull them off using black. I have to use dark purple.

I love the smokey eye look. It works best for me to apply the dark at the outer corners since I have close set eyes.

I love smokey eyes! But it's really hard for me to pull it off in black. I can usually work with any other color though. I usually go with brown. :)

As far as I'm concerned, smoky eyes never went out! They're a great way to get that "Rock Star Glam"!

I love a smokey eye. My favorite right now is a bronze look (I find it more wearable especially for daytime.).
