Bullying is NOT the Answer

Thursday, June 21, 2012

What has this world come to?

I just watched the circulating video of Karen Klein, a bus monitor, who was bullied to tears by 12 year old students for 10 WHOLE MINUTES. Firstly, I'm appalled that kids are not only bullying kids, but now adults?!

The widow and grandmother of eight just lost her son to suicide. One kid on the video said "But you don’t have a family because they all killed themselves because they didn’t want to be near you." Horrible.

The verbal attack went viral and was picked up by an online fundraising group and in their hopes to raise a modest $5,000 to send Karen on a much needed vacation, they raised over $140,000 and counting!

This video is heartbreaking. Parents, teach your kids of the dangers of bullying. Kids, you have to give respect to get respect.

When I saw this on the news I was truly disgusted. On top of it all the money we pay in taxes for public education helps to send these kids to school. These kids truly don't deserve a free education in my opinion. Perhaps the only answer to stopping bullying is to stop calling it bullying and start calling it harassment and try these cases in court and keep the police involved (like they don't have enough to do already).

I saw this terrible news on tv and I was truly sad for what happened to this kind woman. What those kids did to her is just horrible and shouldn't be forgiven. I hope those kid's parents do something about this and all the other parents that have watched her story.
