how to: CHRISTMAS MAKEUP

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Holiday cheer is in the air! Wear this look to any holiday party for Christmas. This bright eyed look is fun, festive, and the bold red lip is perfect for the holiday season! Here's how:

Step 1: Apply our Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in 'Confetti' to the inner corners of the eyes and blend along the eyelid as a base.

Step 2: Grab our Brightening Eye Color in 'Day 2 Night'.

Step 3: Apply the lightest cream shade to the lid using our Eyeshadow 'C' Brush.

Step 4: Contour the crease lightly using the bronze shade with an Angled Contour Brush for definition.

Step 5: Line your eyes with our Liquid Eyeliner in 'Black' and wing out the edges.

Step 6: Apply our Essential Lengthening & Defining Mascara in 'Black' to the top and bottom lashes.

Step 7: Grab our Cream Blush in 'Flirt'.

Step 8: Apply the blush to the apples of the cheeks using your fingers. Make sure to blend!

Step 9: Line your lips with our Lip Liner & Blending Brush in 'Wine'.

Step 10: Fill in the rest of your lips with our Matte Lip Color in 'Rich Red'.

Step 11: Using the 'Blend' side from the lipliner, or a Retractable Lip Brush, blend the lipstick in with the lipliner so there is no harsh line.

Step 12: Wipe above your cupids bow pulling downwards to really define your pout!

Merry Christmas!

A little too much of blush, but other than that it's a cute look!

My favorites for creating a holiday look are the studio cream eyeshadow in Dawn, the essential liquid liner in black, the the essential lipstick in Fearless.

While this is a good effort, it is way too much color on her cheeks with the red lips.

Deffinitly getting the Matte Lip Color. :) It's gorgeous and can work for anything from an elegant holiday look to a stunning and classic Pin-up :) But sadly I must agree, there is just a tad to much blush. Either way it's a gorgeous look :)

I'll be using the shimmer eyeliner pencils (I have about five in different colors), the eyebrow kit, the studio lip stain in red carpet, and possibly even some falsies from the natural lash kit. :)

I will definitely be using my elf brushes to create a fabulous smokey eye. Maybe a bit of elf mineral eye shadow for extra shimmer.

As others have said before, I also think that is a bit too much blush for this look. But, to each their own. Personally, I'll probably use the Ripe Rose lipstick (it's my favorite color) and use the Eyeliner and Shadow stick in Brown/Basic just for some sparkle. I don't want to do too much since I'll be with family all day, but just enough for that holiday spirit.

I'm not sure which products but I do know that over the past few months I have been within the top 25 comments at least 2 if not 3 times and never received any kind of code and/or coupon. That being said, I love E.L.F products and you guys have provided some amazing products at even better prices. I adore your studio line of brushes and mineral makeup, so thank you.

For Holiday 2012 I will be using my new Small Stipple Brush to help me apply a sheer wash of HD blush in Encore or Diva. I had been skipping blush lately and only doing contour, but the pop of color really brightens up my super-pale face, and now that I have the right tool so I don't deposit more than needed, I won't skip blush any more! I squirt a dab of HD blush on my wrist, pounce the brush into it a few times and then stipple the lightly loaded brush gently on my cheeks, building up colr very slowly. Then I take my finger and apply whatever is left from my wrist onto my lips, as a base before lip balm or gloss, for a nice coordinated look.

Love the look, but for my holiday makeup I like to have more sparkle in the eye and a little bit of smokeyness. Love the red lips though!
