How to Prevent Sun Damage to Skin
How to Prevent Sun Damage to Skin
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14, 2010

Sunburn:
1. Chill your aloe Vera, or anti-inflammatory moisturizer or cream in the refrigerator for an hour before you apply it on your skin.  The sheer coolness will help again the sensation of burning and will help to calm redness and inflammation with the active are working to help repair skin (Chill any BORBA SPF for further sun protection post sun exposure).
2. Keep skin hydrated.  A mobile atomizer is a welcome skin quencher.  Continuously spritzing or misting the skin will allow it to absorb and help lock in the moisture to re-balance itself. (BORBA atomizer)
3. Stay out of extreme temperatures.  By going into a super refrigerated environment after a sunburn could potentially shock skin.  Ease skin to a comfortable temperature with gradual steps.  Cold compresses are a wonderful relive to high temperature skin.

Sun block:
1. Since we’re on the run all the time, use a physical block like TD or Zink.  They work immediately with contact to the skin so you don’t have to wait before you head to the car or to the beach. (any BORBA SPF)

Look for a tri-spectum product that incorporates full spectrum (UVA, UVB) and UVC – for carbon protection from the ozone and environmental factors (Like the Advanced Aging SPF 45 and Hand Cream SPF 25) to help fight against burning and again rays all in one step.  Be certain that use a product that has mattifying ingredients to keep skin looking healthy and not greasy (BORBA Clarifying cotton)

Then lightly layer e.l.f shimmering facial whip in “spot light” over the entire neck and decollate area.  Make certain to use the duo on your arms or legs, whatever has the same sum damaged effect.  The beauty is that the products are so affordable, you can help keep your skin looking healthy until the dreaded turtle neck returns.

Sun-Kissed Glow - by Sandy Gold
Sun-Kissed Glow - by Sandy Gold
THURSDAY, JUNE 18, 2009

Using a self-tanner is one of the best ways to get a healthy sun-kissed glow without the harmful rays of the sun.  But, we all know, if not applied properly - it can be a streaky mess! So to prevent you from looking like a ripe orange - here are some quick and easy tips to help you get glowing from home in minutes!

  • Before exposing your skin to any self-tanning product - it's super important to exfoliate firts.  Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells that lye on the surface of the skin, and when not removed - it can leave it dry and dull-looking and nobody wants that!
  • Make sure to exfoliate from your head toyour toes!  Concentrate on areas that tend to be more dry, like your elbows, knees and feet.
  • If you don't have an exfoliator - try making one from home! All you have to do is mix together organic honey and sugar in a bowl - and viola, a homemade exfoliator in seconds! Yiipppeee!
  • When applying a self-tanner - I like to start at my feet and work my way up - in small circular motions.
  • If you don't like the smell of self-tanners - try applying it at night - so you can shower when you wake up and be fresh and tanned in the morning.
I hope this helped you out! Now, get glowing!

And, don't  forget to Wake.up & Make.up!

Summer is here, which means bikini season has sprung…scary!!  The long winter sheltered my once tan body to a now scarish white hue.  No worries though, nothing a little self bronzer, a few non-fat latte’s and cardio can’t fix.  Here’s my best bronzer routine:
