Twilight Makeup Tutorial - by Jami Shopf
Twilight Makeup Tutorial - by Jami ShopfMONDAY, JUNE 01, 2009
I’m Jami, alias ‘Bionic Beauty’. I am 32 years old, a Capricorn, happily married and share my life with my wonderful husband, three dogs, two birds and two Betta fish. My home is in (mostly) sunny Florida - in a small, quiet beach town on the east coast.
As a self-admitted beauty junkie, my favorite items to try are indie cosmetic brands, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, and lip balms. I also have a weakness for eyeshadows, tinted moisturizers and lip color. My number one, must-have beauty item is mascara. I’ve built up quite a cosmetics collection, but vow to use each product up (I absolutely hate wasting stuff!). Or if it’s an unused product, I’ll donate it to my local women’s shelter (Genesis House).
Grab Bella Swan's Twilight Makeup Look for Less
Twilight is everywhere we look lately. Merchandise, movies, celebrity news, the list goes on.
While I'm a huge makeup fan, I am nota fan of spending tons of money to get a certain look. So I have decided to break down Bella Swan's Twilight movie makeup into much more affordable options.
Here's the original makeup used by the artist on the Twilight movie
The total for that look is over $200. Heck, the foundation is around 60 bucks alone!
Now for the more affordable version:
First prime your face with a good moisturizer, you probably already have a favorite so I won't make any recommendations here.
Next apply the lightest possible foundation for your skin tone to get that pale "Forks" look. Since I'm pretty light skinned, I used e.l.f.'s Shielding Hydro Tint in Tone 2.
Top with a matching Clarifying Pressed Powder or a light dusting of Mineral Foundation. Whichever powder you choose, apply it with a large fluffy brush. It'll keep your application translucent and natural.
For cheeks, Visiora's PC 103 is an orange based blush. To lower the cost, use Natural Radiance Blusher in Glow. Apply just on cheekbones and sweep back towards your temples.
Eyeshadow: If you'd like the simplicity of a quad, go for e.l.f.'s Eye Color Quad in Brownstone. The light color, medium and dark brown shades are very similar dupes to MAC's Blanc Type, Girlie and Wedge.
To apply the eyeshadow, use the lightest color from above your crease and to the brow bone.
Apply the medium taupe across your entire lid and just a tiny light dusting under your low lash line. Accent your crease with the darkest brown from the Quad.
In Twilight, Bella's lashes are extremely accentuated. You can apply your normal black mascara and then comb through with a lash comb or a spare (and cleaned) mascara wand. Or I'd recommend splurging on one of the new tubing mascaras such as Blinc (around $25), L'Oreal's Double Extend (at the drugstore), or Me by Mezhgan's Look at Me mascara. Either way grab for black for accent. And if you're in rainy Forks, be sure you get a waterproof formula!
Instead of Good to Go by Benefit for lips, pick up e.l.f.'s Mineral Lipstick in Barely Bitten. This is a great neutral for most skin tones. The goal increase the tint of your lips.
A perfectly natural Bella-inspired makeup look that is perfect for everyday. Quick, classy and understated; not to mention exceptionally affordable!
