New Lipsticks!
New Lipsticks!
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18, 2010

Lipsticks are back!  Forget about the old nasty 80’s tasting lipsticks because e.l.f. has come out with an AMAZING $1 Lipstick that is super smooth and delightfully tasting.   Indulge your lips with long lasting color and shine. The moisture rich formula hydrates, conditions and softens on contact for silky smooth lips. Apply to lips and blend in color for total lip saturation satisfaction!  Here’s what others are saying about the new Lipsticks.

Eva from CA said: “These are so pigmented! And Instead of going to MAC and Spending almost twenty times the price I can get this and 19 more items! My favorite colour is Seductive... It looks great on fair skin!”

Emily from Fl said: “these are amazing! i was really excited when I first saw that elf came out with lipsticks for $1. they are really creamy, and super pigmented. I got three; classy, seductive, and posh. I would definitely recommend these, and I will be purchasing more :)”

I Recently Attended a MUAH Party
I Recently Attended a MUAH Party
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 26, 2009

I recently attended a MUAH party at bloggy friend of mines home. What is a MUAH party you asked?MUAH stands for Make Up At Home. It is a party that e.l.f. Cosmetics and SheSpeaks have been running with bloggers so that their friends can learn more about e.l.f. products as well as educate themselves about proper makeup techniques.

I already LOVE e.l.f. products. I was sold on my first try with some lip gloss I had received. But I learned a TON at this party, and had a lot of fun too.

What did I learn? Did you know that PINK is NOT the color for me for my lips? I couldn't believe it! For years I have been wearing the same color pink lipstick and NO ONE told me it was the WRONG color for me. Thank goodness for my friends who are not afraid to tell me the truth. But now I am wondering what else I am doing wrong?!  At the MUAH party, I tried (hesitantly tried) a brownish cocoa color lipstick. I am very pale and I thought to myself, this is gonna look horrible, like I ate a Hershey bar and it melted all over my mouth. But It was great! It really made my lips pop!   Also, I learned that I shouldn't be afraid to "explore" more when it comes to my make-up. There was a bright dazzling green creamy eye shadow there that I loved, but I would never think to even try or buy it.  At the suggestion of my friend Kim (@craftymamaof4), I tried this green creamy eyeshadow and low and behold, IT ROCKED! I was so pleased and everyone was giving me compliments on how much it too made my eyes pop!
By the end of the night, I was a makeup warrior. Trying all kinds of new things. Now I love e.l.f.make- up even more and will definitely be doing some more "exploring" with colors.

The only downfall to the whole party was after we were all dolled up with makeup we had no where to go show it off!!  Although, it DID make me feel good when I came home and my daughter said, "Mommy, you look like a beautiful princess" and my hubby said, "you have make up on".   Well, At least he noticed! lol

Want to expose your friends to e.l.f cosmetics?  Try hosting a MUAH party?  Simply sign up at Shespeaks.com and make them aware of your desire to host a party.

Thanks e.l.f.

Mineral Lip Gloss Makes Me Feel Like A Trophy Wife
Mineral Lip Gloss Makes Me Feel Like A Trophy Wife
THURSDAY, AUGUST 06, 2009

I don’t wear a lot of makeup.  I really don’t wear a lot of makeup when it’s hot outside.  I have to do a little something with my eyes.  (I’ve written before how my husband and sons have been blessed in the brow and eyelash area.  Me – not so much.)  Fortunately, my skin is relatively clear.  Also, I have nice lips – a little gloss or lip color and I’m good to go.

My lips are where I have fun with makeup.  In the summer, I love lip glosses.  It’s the ultimate hot weather beauty pick-me-up.  I’m constantly looking for new ones to try out.  My current favorite is Eyes Lips Face’s “Trophy Wife” http://www.eyeslipsface.com/products_minerals.asp?dept_id=1396.  I like the name.  (I’m my husband’s “trophy wife”.  Okay, I’m only his wife, but I just like the way trophy wife sounds.  I am a prize.  He is too.)  I like that the mineral formula is smooth when I apply it to my lips.  I like that the gloss looks good alone and on top of my other lipsticks.  I like that it gives my lips a nice shine without being too greasy looking.  (I hate when lip glosses make me look like I’m wearing Vaseline or like I just finished eating a bucket of fried chicken!)  Most of all, I love that it makes my lips look luscious - something that my husband especially appreciates!
