Is Harry Destroying the Royal Family?
Is Harry Destroying the Royal Family?
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 06, 2012

Okay, we admit it! We're slightly obsessed with the Royal Family, whether it's for better or for worse. Recently it's been more worse, but we're not complaining. If you've been living under a rock the last few weeks, allow me to bring you up to speed. Prince Harry has been on a bender the last few weeks and according to USA Today the only thing he's keeping from the public is the family jewels. He's been spotted partying all over Las Vegas and California and swimming against Ryan Lochte  after the 2012 London Olympic games, but the highlight of his trip has to be his alleged game of Strip Billiards at the MGM Grand.

As any regular father would be expected to be ashamed, Prince Wiliam was also "not impressed" by his younger brother's antics. However, this royal mess up has even pent Kate against Pippa, who is "“sick of being treated unfairly” in the lime light of the royal family, according to this Woman's Day article. Looks like a mess all around from where we're standing, but the real question is, should Harry be blamed for everything or is this just part of being young and having fun?

MILF
MILF
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2009

Look, I get it. I get that the whole MILF thing has evolved into some you must be perfect and look as if you’ve never been pregnant or looked at a cookie” mentality. I get that Britney gets called fat just because she doesn’t look like she used to – and that’s wrong. I get that Salma Hayek heard ALL about it because she actually looked pregnant with her entire body, and not like she was smuggling a basketball.

However, I also remember the I heard the term and how hard I laughed. (Sitting in a theater watching American Pie.)

It was awesome. Those two teenage boys licking the frame and going ape over Jennifer Coolidge.

I mean LOOK at her. She’s hawt, yo.

She’s hot and she does NOT:

1. weigh less than 110 pounds when her body is meant to weigh more.

2. look like a 20 year old when is she twice that age.

3. have skinny thighs.

She DOES:

1. carry herself with confidence

2. dress for HER body type

3. exude an “I could be the best thing to ever happen to you” aura

And THAT, my friends, is what I have in mind when I think of MILF. I’m done being a little girl, and I’m sick of all the images that keep trying to tell me that I’m supposed to aspire to be 15 forever.

So tell me, who is YOUR role model for being fabulous at any age or weight?

Twilight Makeup Tutorial - by Jami Shopf
Twilight Makeup Tutorial - by Jami Shopf
MONDAY, JUNE 01, 2009

I’m Jami, alias ‘Bionic Beauty’. I am 32 years old, a Capricorn, happily married and share my life with my wonderful husband, three dogs, two birds and two Betta fish. My home is in (mostly) sunny Florida - in a small, quiet beach town on the east coast.
As a self-admitted beauty junkie, my favorite items to try are indie cosmetic brands, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, and lip balms. I also have a weakness for eyeshadows, tinted moisturizers and lip color. My number one, must-have beauty item is mascara. I’ve built up quite a cosmetics collection, but vow to use each product up (I absolutely hate wasting stuff!). Or if it’s an unused product, I’ll donate it to my local women’s shelter (Genesis House).

Grab Bella Swan's Twilight Makeup Look for Less
Twilight is everywhere we look lately. Merchandise, movies, celebrity news, the list goes on.

While I'm a huge makeup fan, I am nota fan of spending tons of money to get a certain look. So I have decided to break down Bella Swan's Twilight movie makeup into much more affordable options.

Here's the original makeup used by the artist on the Twilight movie
  •  Skin Care: Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 55
  •  Foundation: SK-II Air Touch Foundation in OP-3
  •  Powder: M.A.C. Blot Powder/Pressed in Light
  •  Blush: Visiora Compact Powder in PC 103
  •  Eye Shadow: M.A.C. Eye Shadow in Blanc Type, Flute and Wedge. *Flute was a limited edition color and is  no longer available; Girlie is an equivalent (it's in the Satin category
  •  Mascara: Smashbox Limitless Lash Mascara in black waterproof
  •  Lips: Smashbox Lip & Lid Primer and Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick in Good to Go (a plum/brown color)
The total for that look is over $200. Heck, the foundation is around 60 bucks alone!

Now for the more affordable version:

First prime your face with a good moisturizer, you probably already have a favorite so I won't make any recommendations here.

Next apply the lightest possible foundation for your skin tone to get that pale "Forks" look. Since I'm pretty light skinned, I used e.l.f.'s Shielding Hydro Tint in Tone 2.

Top with a matching Clarifying Pressed Powder or a light dusting of Mineral Foundation. Whichever powder you choose, apply it with a large fluffy brush. It'll keep your application translucent and natural.

For cheeks, Visiora's PC 103 is an orange based blush. To lower the cost, use Natural Radiance Blusher in Glow. Apply just on cheekbones and sweep back towards your temples.

Eyeshadow: If you'd like the simplicity of a quad, go for e.l.f.'s Eye Color Quad in Brownstone. The light color, medium and dark brown shades are very similar dupes to MAC's Blanc Type, Girlie and Wedge.

To apply the eyeshadow, use the lightest color from above your crease and to the brow bone.
Apply the medium taupe across your entire lid and just a tiny light dusting under your low lash line. Accent your crease with the darkest brown from the Quad.

In Twilight, Bella's lashes are extremely accentuated. You can apply your normal black mascara and then comb through with a lash comb or a spare (and cleaned) mascara wand. Or I'd recommend splurging on one of the new tubing mascaras such as Blinc (around $25), L'Oreal's Double Extend (at the drugstore), or Me by Mezhgan's Look at Me mascara. Either way grab for black for accent. And if you're in rainy Forks, be sure you get a waterproof formula!

Instead of Good to Go by Benefit for lips, pick up e.l.f.'s Mineral Lipstick in Barely Bitten. This is a great neutral for most skin tones. The goal increase the tint of your lips.

A perfectly natural Bella-inspired makeup look that is perfect for everyday. Quick, classy and understated; not to mention exceptionally affordable!

Showbizzle
Showbizzle
THURSDAY, JANUARY 22, 2009

Ok, you may have heard of the latest rage of “webisodes”(mini TV shows online).  Well I discovered a new one that I thought I would share.  It’s called Showbizzle, it’s about this girl Janey and the drama that surrounds Hollywood.  One of the cool things about this site is you can even enter to win to be featured in one of their episodes…talk about an opportunity for fame!  I also discovered the main character Janey is a makeup lover and one of her favorites is e.l.f. cosmetics (gotta love it)!!!  Another neat fact is Showbizzle was developed by the original writer/producer of Beverly Hills  90210 and Dawson’s Creek and from time to time Hollywood insiders will be on the site talking about how to break into Hollywood, so you know this is gonna be good.   Check it out and let me know what you think. Showbizzle.com

And for every valid web comment on this blog only we will give you a Free $5 e.l.f. coupon via email just to say thanks (1 per person, to the first 100 posts only).
