What Makes You Feel the Most Beautiful?
What Makes You Feel the Most Beautiful?THURSDAY, JULY 23, 2009 The other night I was on the phone with one of my girlfriends, and we were laughing over her telling me that she feels the most beautiful wearing her husband’s tees. I couldn’t get over how cute and funny that was. She felt the most beautiful in one of her husband’s tees, not hers. Her reasoning behind it is that she’s the most relaxed and most like herself at night, hanging out with her husband and kids, laughing and enjoying her family in his soft, cozy (slightly oversized on her) tees. She said it’s her “nightly uniform.” I couldn’t argue with this reason. It makes sense. But it got me thinking. When do I feel the most beautiful? Surely, my gut instinct was to say when I’m all made up, hair perfect, makeup on and dressed in my most fabulous heels and dress. But that’s not it. I actually feel the most beautiful when I’m in my most
comfortable pair of jeans and soft cotton tanks with flip flops.
That’s when I feel the most beautiful. It’s just me being me. And that, within itself, makes me feel the most beautiful.
As women, we get the chance through fashion and makeup and accessories to make ourselves “beautiful” all the time. We can change our hair color, try a different shade of lipstick, buy a trendy outfit, dazzle in a spectacular necklace or walk on by in that perfect pair of shoes, but do these things make us feel the most beautiful?
Maybe for some it is when they’re toting their Louis Vuitton or wearing their Manolos or dazzling their new engagement ring or being able to pick out that first maternity outfit. Feeling your most beautiful is different for everyone, and it’s something that not everyone thinks about every single day. Maybe it’s about time we do, because when we feel our most beautiful… we’re at our very best.
