Three Powerful Steps to Getting It Done
Three Powerful Steps to Getting It Done
MONDAY, MAY 03, 2010

When I think of getting it done, the truth is it’s just a lot of small (baby) steps that are on the way to making something happen. To look at a big task all at once is so daunting. We would never get started. So many of us are stuck in the brilliance of our big ideas because we’re overwhelmed...

How Do We Break Through the Overwhelm?

Identifying the primary goal or objective. This is where you concentrate on the outcome you desire. It would be helpful to write down your vision in detail of where you want to be.

Chunking the goal out. Once you have a goal, break it down into chunks. What does that mean? Break things down into smaller manageable pieces. The single larger goal is more achievable as you work through one chunk at a time.

Breaking it into easy steps. Now you have chunked your goal it’s time to work out the steps you need to accomplish. Break it down into small very specific doable tasks.

These three powerful steps will help you meet your goals too – whether it’s the 10 pounds you want to lose or the huge information product you want to write, it’s all about one pound at a time or one chapter a time. Once you have your goal clearly in mind and have it chunked down into manageable pieces, you can start moving through the necessary steps with speed and grace.

Create a Positive Shift in Your Energy
Create a Positive Shift in Your Energy
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21, 2010

When you consider what's going on with the economy, it's very easy to focus on your own individual needs as you feel the stress of hard times. You may feel like you have to keep it all for yourself—your time, your talents, your resources, and energies and there just isn’t any extra for anyone else.

However, when you step out of your own personal focus and begin asking how you can be of service to others, everything in the universe shifts and you embark on a path to much greater success.

What can help you to achieve this positive new way of thinking?

Instead of focusing on “What's in it for me?" - take the focus off of yourself. Shift your focus to “What am I going to GIVE?" Watch your energy shift into a positive place regardless of your own struggles, financial or otherwise.

What's even better is with the right focus you CANNOT FAIL. When you're authentic and have an intention to truly be of service, you end up winning by establishing or maintaining great relationships.  And the surprising thing is those relationships will give you back just as much or more than what you gave.

If you're struggling financially, let go of focusing on that desperation and instead focus on who you can serve. You'll be amazed at the shift in your energy and the positive results will inspire you to continue.

How to Attract Your Ideal Customers and Partners
How to Attract Your Ideal Customers and Partners
MONDAY, MARCH 29, 2010

I'm sure you can remember a time when you've had a less than ideal business partner or customer.

Spend a moment and get an image of that person in your head-that person who completely drains you; that person you have to "keep selling" to remain involved; that person you're literally dragging and pulling along; and that person who leaves you feeling bad after every interaction.

I've been there many times and I tell you it's awful - there's nothing fun about it.
I finally realized that I do have a choice about who I work with.

Who's that ideal person you want to grow a business with, support, and speak with multiple times a day? Think of the best qualities of your favorite partners and customers to create a muse for yourself. Carry that vision of your muse with you always and share it with others.

This clarity will make it easier to communicate to others about the type of person you'd like to meet. Ask them "who do you know who has A, B and C qualities?" I believe having this clarity will allow you to attract those business partners into your life that you want – leading you to achieve much greater success as you move forward in your business.

Remember...you're the CEO of YOUR own life, so... take charge of who you allow into your life. Set strong boundaries and surround yourself with people you want to work with.
