Lemon Glow
Lemon Glow
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31, 2010

The natural Vitamin C in this highly acidic acid would rival a professional Lactic acid treatment in my own private celebrity clinic.  I love this one because it is so simple yet you will have the look of 12 glycolic treatments without any down time.  It will also even out skin tone, minimize enlarged pores and blotchiness so your make up will look more natural.

Only one step.
Roll massage 4 room temperature lemons (that will provide you will the extract intensity needed to provide you will a major benefit with one application).  Cut in half and Squeeze without straining (keeping the pulp) in a small bowl or measuring cup.  Mix one foil packet of liquid pectin (you can pick up at any grocery store in the gelatin isle).  Apply liberally to your entire face, neck , décolleté and back of hands.  Anything exposed to the camera.   You will know when to take it off when you skin starts to tingle (or no more than 5 minutes).

The pectin will plump up the skin, smooth out skin texture while the lemon with brighten, increase radiance and even out skin tone.  Glowing skin guaranteed!

Banana Away Your Tired Eyes
Banana Away Your Tired Eyes
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24, 2010

The peel and fruit of the banana has natural intensive firming fibers and anti-inflammatory milky liquid extracts.  It’s  a ridiculously simple treatment that will take 15 seconds to prepare and 5 minutes to reap the benefits.

Peel (anti-creeping):  Step one.
Take a banana out of the peel and run a large spoon from top to bottom of the husk until you strip it of its internal fibers.  Mix that with a quarter sixe amount of super cold Vaseline.  Apply to your lids and the top of the eye brow.  Allow to set for five minutes and gently tissue off.  You will be astounded at the reduction of the loose skin and the wide away look you will achieve.  Make certain prior to make up application that you take a icy washcloth or a refrigerated make up removing wipe to remove the excess Vaseline.

Banana Fruit:  Step Two
Macerate the fruit gently in a small blow.  Again add one quarter size amount of Vaseline.  Freeze it for 5 minutes.  Apply it under eyes.  Allow to set for five minutes and gently tissue off.   Wrinkle, lines and swelling will be visibly reduced and your foundation and concealer will glide on.  Make certain prior to make up application that you take a icy washcloth or a refrigerated make up removing to remove the excess Vaseline.

Night Out
Night Out
FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2010

I follow a certain routine when I’m getting ready for a night out.

It starts with a full-service shower: shaving, full body exfoliating and, of course, shampooing and conditioning my hair. And when I get out of the shower, I usually find that my husband has left me a little present on the counter. A cocktail of some sort, usually made with vodka, club soda and pomegranate juice (got to have those anti-oxidants). If he is feeling particularly generous, he might leave me a martini. Either way, I’m off to a good start.

I pop in my contacts, put on my foundation and blow dry my hair. Then the real fun begins. I start playing some music. And I find that I tailor the music that I am listening to depending on what I’m getting ready to go do. Going to a big party needs something rowdy like Adam Lambert’s “If I Had You” (I’m a big fan regardless of what others think. Love his music) or C+ C Music Factory’s “Gonna Make You Sweat”. Going out with the girls requires Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” or Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive”. And then going out to dinner with friends would require something a little more toned down. Maybe a little jazz like Terell Stafford’s “Blues for JT” or Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now”.

You get the idea.

(I actually think music makes doing a lot of things better. I also listen to it when I’m cleaning the house. Some classic rock like Led Zeppelin or the Rolling Stones.)

Once the music gets going, I get going. Getting ready is more fun, is easier and I tend to finish up faster. In no time at all, I pick out my clothes, put on my makeup, accessorize, finish my cocktail and then head downstairs where my husband is waiting to tell me how great I look. And to ask me what took me so long. Guess I’m not as fast as I thought.

Then out the door and on to yet another fun evening! I love a good night out.

What’s your getting ready to go out routine?
