S/S 2015 NYFW Beauty Roundup!
S/S 2015 NYFW Beauty Roundup!
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2014

Another fashion week has come and gone here in New York. I know we've been absolutely bombarding you with all the fall beauty trends lately, but since Fall Fashion Week is all about the trends for next spring, we thought it might be exciting to get a sneak peek at what big beauty trends you'll be sporting all the way in 2015! Take a look at some of out favorite trends we pulled straight from the runways for eyes, lips, and face!

Eyes:

Think 24 karats elfettes! Rose gold looks to be spring's hottest eye color, as seen on this model from the Prabal Gurung show. As well, (And we hate to disappoint some of you matte fans!) but shimmery finishes will be the preferred look. I think some of the shades from our Studio Baked Eyeshadow Palettes in California and Texas would be must-haves for spring. They both beautiful, rosy shades, and a shimmery, yet natual finish.

Lips:

Spring and summer lip colors have been taking a gradual shift towards "Your lips, but better" shades, and it looks like the same will hold true for spring 2015. Expect to see very natural shades, with hints of pink or violet enhancing a nude lip, such as this model at the Mara Hoffman show. Unlike the case with eyes, we anticipate both matte and glossy lips working with this trend. This elfette's all time favorite lip color is our Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink, an absolutely perfect shade to pick up for spring.

Face:

Believe it or not, we're actually expecting some rollover from fall/winter into spring when it comes to face looks. Glowing skin (A full must-try!) will still be in, so put your matte foundations aside for something with more luminocity. You know my favorite trick by now is to mix a dab of Essential Shimmering Facial Whip in Spotlight to my regular foundation for an easy glow. However, unlike this fall, where pale blushes are key, expect brighter blushes for spring. Meaning, swap out your Studio HD Blush in Headliner for Diva come next spring.

Which spring looks are you most excited about?

COLOR REPORT: deep pink
COLOR REPORT: deep pink
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2014

It's that time again Elfette! Fall is practically here and fashion week just ended... we absolutely loved the deep lip colors seen all over the runway and beyond. I think DEEP PINK looks awesome on so many different skin colors, so I had to bring you a report on it!

TOOLS USED
1. e.l.f. Studio Glossy Gloss in Funky Fuschia is a beautiful intro to deeper lips! If you're hesitant to wear too much color, this is a great option for you. It goes on smooth and shows a sweet tint of color.

2. e.l.f. Studio Matte Lipstick in Wine is a new shade addition to our matte lipstick line! It's a gorgeous color and the formula is never dry or heavy. Roll up the color and apply as needed without ever sharpening.

3. e.l.f. Studio HD Blush in Showstopper and Small Smudge Brush are perfection for the girl who loves a LOT of color and multi-functional products. This stuff is amazing on the lips! It's very matte and stains the lip deep enough to keep on all day. Kiss and Blush at the same time!

xoxo
Sonia

Nina's Flirty Glow!
Nina's Flirty Glow!
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2014

Source: Shutterstock

If you've been following along on with the @officialelfcosmetics Instagram, you'll know that we've been counting down the top fall beauty trends you're sure to be seeing all season long this week. One of my favorite fall trends has to be the flow of glowing, radiant skin (Always a summertime staple) into the fall months. Yes, while we all tend to think of fall as a time for matte (And maybe flat...) skin, this year, it's the season to glow! The look is meant to be flawless, so think full-coverage foundation (Our Foundation 101 Guide has you covered!) but with the dewy glow that's so reminiscent of summer nights. That's why I love this super-flirty look from Nina Dobrev. Her flawless, glowing skin is exactly what we have in mind for fall!

To start this look, look for a radiance- or complexion-enhancing primer. Our Studio Mineral Infused Primer in Radiant Glow is perfect for this look. This will prime your skin for maximum wattage. Now, you'll need a full-coverage foundation for this flawless look. If you have blemish-prone skin, we recommend our Studio Acne Fighting Foundation, with our fullest coverage. However, if you're blessed with clear skin (And lucky you!) definitely give our Studio Moisturizing Foundation Stick a try. It's easily-buildable up to full coverage, plus it's loaded with moisturizing nutrients. Glowing skin is healthy skin!

Finish if off with bold, strong brows. If you haven't tried it yet, find out why so many elfettes call our Studio Eyebrow Kit their "secret weapon." Top it off with the Essential Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara to set it. Flirty eyelashes are an asbolute must with a flirty glow, so try our Essential Natural Lash Kit or Studio Lash Collection in Flirty for instantly-sweet eyelashes that are perfect for batting.

What are your favorite fall trends?

beauty how-to: GLOWING GOLD
beauty how-to: GLOWING GOLD
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 03, 2014

Hey elfette! I know you just can't get enough of the e.l.f. Shadows and eye products and you're totally obsessed... don't try to hide it! We love all the feedback from you girls about doing looks with brown eyeliner, so here's to the beginning of many more to come. You'll be glowing gold soon enough!

STEP 1
Using the "c" brush from the e.l.f. Studio Luxe Brush Clutch, tap on a bit of Essential Smudge Pot in "Pearls of Wisdom," to give you a starting glow.

STEP 2
I love this new Studio Blending Brush! It softly applys powder shadows without overdoing it. Pick up some of the bright gold color from the 18-piece Geometric Eyeshadow Palette and gently apply over the smudge pot color from step 1.

STEP 3
Using the same brush, blend in a deeper shade onto the edge of your eye and into the crease.

STEP 4
Brown liner is perfect on any day and defines the eye without overdoing it. Using the Essential Liquid liner in coffee, begin to add color to your lash line.

STEP 5
Build up your lashes using this amazing 3-in-1-mascara. The awesome "ball" tipped brush helps to separate while the comb applies layers of mascara without being clumpy.

STEP 6
Don't neglect your lower lashes for this look! Carefully use the tip of the mascara brush to apply a bit of color and volume to your lower lashes. This will help them look more open and awake.

Try this look and show us how you did it! Tag us on instagram @officialelfcosmetics

xoxo
Sonia
