I actually started using the smudge eye sponge a month or two back and I absolutely <3 it! I mostly use it to apply my bases or primers to my eyelids or to smudge out my eyeliner if I feel like I put too much on, and then I just reapply it lightly. It definitely can be used for those things, i'm in love!

I noticed a few ladies complaining that this doesn't apply eyeshadow well. That isn't what it's for,"Use the sponge tip to expertly SMUDGE and BLEND eyeliner and eyeshadow." is what the description says. When used as instructed, this smudge sponge works beautifully. I can certainly see if you skipped the instructions and tried to use it for application, you would be sorely disappointed.

This is a great tool to use to apply highlight to your inner eye. I take elf's "angelic" mineral eyeshadow and dip the sponge applicator (lightly, don't get too much) and just TAP in and around the corner of your eye and just along that inner corner of your bottom lash line. Your eyes will just pop! So gorgeous! I also use this tool to smudge my lower lash eyeliner. The trick is to TAP and not drag the sponge along your lash line. If it hurts your not using it correctly.

This brush is a great value but it is a little hard. I use it to smudge my liner to a more natural look but it's so hard it hurts my eyelids sometimes! A little water to dampen it helps a lot. All in all, a great value.

This is not a great eye brush, but it ROCKS for blending in the eyebrow pencil to the eyebrows for a natural color look. Use it with the eyebrow wax kit or with the pencils and you will have great eyebrows that look natural-and for those of use with blonde brows, a natural look is hard to come by.
