This is my first blending brush, so I cannot compare to other blending brushes. The brush does its job, however, of blending shadows already applied to your face without losing product on your eyes. The bristles are very soft compared to other brushes of all types. This brush, however, would not be very effective at applying shadow directly to your eyes (yet, this is a blending brush, and its purpose is to blend, not apply).
I do wish the stick was longer, however. The gems on the stick do make it a bit more uncomfortable than usual to hold it (but that is just being very picky about the brush).
