It does it's job, but it is a bit scratchy on the eyes, I wouldn't recommend it to people with naturally sensitive/red eyes - this brush isn't for you. HOWEVER, I don't have this problem and I just wanted to try this brush out, only a dollar, why not? It's decent, but it does it's job :)

I use this brush everyday to smudge out my eyeliner. It works really well. My only complaint is that it sheds.

I have pretty much all the white brushes from ELF. I love every single one of them, and if they don't work for the purpose they were designed, I use them for something else and they work perfectly.
The smudge brush particularly is my favorite of all, because it just does a great job smudging black or grey eyeshadow on your lower lid for smokey eyes, or to create a matte brown soft eyeline on the top eyelid for a daytime, day-to-day look.

I have recently been converted to the Studio line of brushes and found this little gem by accident. I use this little guy for everything: highlighting on the brow, applying color to the lid and in the crease, smudging out liner. It's great for when I have those mornings where I'm in a rush and can't be bothered to use more brushes than I have the time for, especially since I clean my brushes lightly after almost every use.

I haven't had any issues with shedding, but the brushes are stiff so be careful if using on the lower lash line. I wish I had ordered more than two when I made my latest haul because one was perfect and the other was shaped oddly (long like an eyeshadow brush and kind of flimsy) but it wasn't a complete waste because it went to my little sister who is new to makeup. That and it was only a buck.

All in all it is a great brush and I would purchase many more.

For me this brush is perfect for applying any shadow but especially smudging a smokey eye look. This brush, the C brush and the tiny concealer brush are must haves!!!

This is my absolute favorite of the "single brushes" offered by ELF. I use it to blend my shadow in the crease to the outer corner of my eye. It never fails to help render the perfect smokey eye effect. I get so many compliments on my eye make up and I cannot stress to everyone the importance of using the right tools. And just because a brush is labeled for a certain use, doesn't necessarily mean it can't be used to do something else. Make it work for you!

Of all my makeup brush sets and individual pieces, the ELF Blending, ELF Crease, and ELF Smudge are my FAVORITE brushes! They are perfectly sized and designed for concise color placement and blending without a lot of product fallout. This smudge brush is perfect for applying eyeshadow under lower lashes for smokey look. I keep them clean and soft with Cetaphil liquid cleanser.

This brush is excellent not only for smudging, but for packing on color. I really wouldn't recommend it for blending since it is very stiff. It's especially good for when you want to be precice with your shadows. Since it's so short, it wont cover too much surface area with eye shadow, bronzer, etc. I really like it for contouring the sides of my nose and shaping my crease area to get the look I want. Personally, mine doesn't shed, but I have had that problem with some of elf's brushes before, so it's kind of luck of the draw.
