The bristles are soft but when I got mine in the mail I could see without even opening the packaging that 2 gems were missing and that there were stray bristles. ELF's other brushes are better quality. Skip this.

I purchased this brush because I was in need of a new foundation brush. I really liked the design and was excited when I saw my E.L.F. box at the front door. When I opened the box and took the brush out I saw the bristles were sticking up and I decided to pull them thinking it was only a few. Then I brushed it in the palm of my had and more started to stick up. This kept happening, I can't give a review on if it worked or not because it kept shedding and I never actually used it. I thru it in the trash.

This brush is awful. It's very cute but it's useless. The bristles are very hard, scratchy, and stiff. You get better quality with the free baby kabuki brushes provided with drugstore mineral makeup. I like to play with the bristles and a bunch of dust flew up when I did so. It also smelled awful. I washed this brush hoping it would fix all of the problems. I even did a deep condition with a fekkai conditioner. Needless to say, the brush was still smelly and the bristles were still awful.
Don't waste your money on this. I promise you'll be happier buying the studio line kabuki and bedazzling it yourself.

Its cute, but it sheds... once I de-shed it a few times it does not shed as much. I still use it but I would buy one thats not in the gem line if I had the chance to redo it.

I purchased a total of twelve gem brushes. Before the first use of this brush and the blue powder brush I washed them and the color began to come off and the bristle shed pretty bad as well. The studio line brushes are so much better and are cheaper.

I was so exited when I ordered this product but when I got it a lot of the hairs were poking out in random directions and very rough on the face. Not very good quality all though very cute design.
