Prior to eyeshadow and bottom lash mascara application, place the shield comfortably and snugly below the bottom lash line and apply makeup, using the shield to guard you against any makeup smears or mistakes. I always get mascara on my eyelids no matter what so this is totally a lifesaver for me!! SOOO excited, loving and absolutely so glad I ordered this finally! Biggest game changer. Helps separate lashes, makes sure i never get clumpy/mascara overload which becomes spidery looking lashes. Not the best quality because the top kind of came off when i pulled it out of the container the first time but no big deal. Saves me sooo much time I LOVE IT!!!! so simple but so neccessary! You'd be surprised! Must get!

This is a good idea in theory. I was really excited to try this since I get a lot of fall-out with e.l.f. eye shadows. I find it awkward to hold this with one hand while I apply shadow with the other, but the reason it doesn't work for me is because of the shape of it. This is made for smaller, rounder eyes than I have (I'm a white girl with regular old eyes, so it's not like I have eyes that are extremely almond-shaped or anything) so the shadow falls in the gap between the applicator and my under eye. I don't use this at all after the first 3 attempts.

THIS IS A GREAT IDEA FOR WHEN YOU ARE APPLYING MASCARA SO THE MASCARA DOES NOT GET ALL OVER.
I HAVE BLONDE EYELASHES AND EYEBROWS AND I HAVE TO APPLY MY MASCARA FIRST TO MAKE SURE THAT I GET ALL OF MY LASHES COVERED WITH MY MASCARA..AND IN DOING SO, I HAVE TO APPLY MANY..MANY COATS OF MASCARA TO MY TOP LASHES AS WELL AS MY BOTTOM LASHES..AND IN DOING SO, THE MASCARA IS SMEARED ALL AROUND MY EYES..BECAUSE IF IT IS NOT, IT LOOKS LIKE I HAVE NO FACIAL EXPRESSIONS UNLESS YOUR UP CLOSE BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT SEE MY BLONDE LASHES..SO EVERY MORNING I CURL MY LASHES AND START APPLYING MY MASCARA AND HAVE TO MAKE SURE ALL OF MY LASHES GET COVERED..THEN I USE TO HAVE TO GET A Q-TIP WITH SOAP/WATER AND CLEAN UP ALL THE MASCARA ALLAROUND MY EYES..IT IS NOW EASIER TO CLEAN UP AROUND MY EYES NOW DUE TO THE COSMETIC WIPES AND FASTER TOO!!
BUT WHEN I SAW THAT THIS "TOOL" COULD POSSIBLY HELP ME OUT, I ORDERED 6 OF THEM SO I WOULD ALWAYS HAVE ONE WITH ME AND THE REST AS BACKUPS.
THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES I TRIED IT, IT WAS VERY HARD TO TRY AND HOLD THIS IN PLACE AND PUTTING ON YOUR MASCARA AND IT WAS SO AKWARD AND HARD TO DO AND PLUS IT WAS NOT WORKING LIKE I THOUGHT IT SHOULD..SO AFTER A WEEK OF TRYING TO DO ALL THAT AND IT REALLY DIDN'T MAKE A DIFERANCE EITHER WAY..IT WAS MUCH EASIER JUST TO APPLY MY MASCARA LIKE I ALWAYS DID IN THE PAST AND JUST CLEAN UP AROUND THE EDGES WITH THE CLOTH MAKEUP WIPES WAS MUCH EASIER,FASTER AND A LOT CLEANER WHEN I WAS DONE..IM JUST GLAD THAT IN THE END I DID FIND SOMETHING TO MAKE PUTTING ON MY MASCARA EASIER..THIS BEING THE MAKEUP WIPES..BUT THIS TOOL DID NOT HELP ME AT ALL IN THE END.

It's a good idea... but you can use a tissue or piece of paper. The only thing that is convinient is the handle because it lets your hand be out of the way while applying make up so you can actually see what you are doing which is always AWESOME :D

This works wonderfully as a backer when combing out wet mascara to remove clumps/separate lashes. Yes, it takes a bit of practice to get used to handling this along with the mascara wand or comb in the other hand, but wow, what a difference it makes! I love this shield!

When I first receive this I wasn't very pleased with it and didn't find it so helpful at all. But I gave it a try a couple more times and tried to figure out the way to use it and I kinda like it. It's not a super great product but it could be very helpful. It helps preventing mascara to get all over eyelids or under eye while applying. I use it for both upper and lower eyelashes. So far, I like this product!
